View Full Version : Rookie List

Im trying to compose a list of players to look for that will play in Rookie1. Im tired of playing against super human goalies when playing SIM. So reply if you are willing to play in Rookie1 so I know who to look for. This should help letting others know who to play so we can make the ladder there more competetive.

I will definitely play any of you guys on rookie game speed 2 or less and penalties at 5.

What settings do most of you prefer?

since this is a public ladder, I don't feel like I can really say what settings need to be used or rules that we play by.

I play on
gamespeed- 0 (1 MAX, i just wont play on anything faster)
penalties-5-8

since this is on rookie 1-timers do go in ALOT. So im playing by the no 1-timer rule and if you're playing me I hope you keep the 1-T chances down. :D

Go ahead and put me on the list (tag is "Vinay", contrary to my forum name) but I will probably not spend much, if any, time in Rookie 1 or online at all. I usually just go on for a league game and then log off, but hey...whatever. ;)

Good game yesterday. Unfortunately, the lag was really bad. I am having a 2MB cable modem installed Saturday, so that should help tremendously.

I like your rules, and I think 1-timers should be five or less for a game.

This is the way to play guys, places an emphasis on good defense (not dive poking all the time, once in awhile is ok) and the shots that should go in will find the net.

btw nux RAMoROD was me i was tryin a diff name becausei was embarrased of my new record, good games and that one timer for the goal in overtime was by accident obvioulsy thats why i quit

ahhh...so THAT was you. I was talking to KLPATS and was wondering who the hell that was. Its not often when you find a random player that doesnt use 1-T and finds me in rookie.

RIVERMAN- GG, just 1 thing. Can you stop shooting from blue/red line off the rush? On rookie goalies those will go in more often then not, if i remembred correctly your first goal was behind the blue line.

Now people it won't be a very fun ladder if I am the only one challenging people to games, if you see ppl on this list that are in Pro1 ask them to play in rookie by decling "settings/reputation" or something.

yeah im def in guys, also look for me in pro1 cuz i dont wanna exploit 1-timers on rookie but its a habit for me to do so since i play hockey and you usually try to set up 1-timers off of cycling the puck, i mean ill play in rookie but try not to get to mad if i do that once in awhile its just second nature for me to think about looking for and taking an open 1-T

suppaman- GGs, nice to see you slowed down on the 1-T in our 3rd game. And the scouting report for him will be : Beware of puck possession. If you have ever played against me before you'll think you are seeing 2x! lol

btw: no way am i letting VAN lose, NEVER! okay, sometimes...

NJFAN30- I know you play SIM, just didnt know if you wanted to play in Rookie1 or not, but you are added now :P

i added you although i have not played you. so your own till i guess something happens.

just a though to throw out there for you Pro1 players- why don't you guys/girls start a list of disc hackers and free W losers? Now Im not talking about S-Move, or 1-T etc, but more in the lines of Pauser, disconnecter, people that get wins for no reason, or those that play with your settings when losing?

I'm wondering...the couple of times that people have used the "drop to get a win trick" was when their timer expired on their pause menu. I'm thinking that I could just hit continue and outwait the guy until finally takes the loss.

im telliin u the #1 guy jupiter does it so u both get the win, i dont kno how but watch out for him

I played the guy and about 2 minutes in he dropped. I got the win, he got a drop. Guess he must have screwed up or something.

SuppaMan
February 7th, 2004, 12:50 PM
yeah jupiter tries to cheat but before the reset when he was ranked like 150 or around there or something i played him 4 times and beat him everytime..must be he didnt know how to do the drop thing back then

Oilerfan- the pause timer thing, is a big thing with jeets. i played him last night and went up 3-0 before he finally scored 1. he kept pausing to change his lines, but he would change something and change it back (therefore having done nothing at all) and his timer ran out twice. i pushed continue both times and forced him to either dc or lose. i guess he came to his senses and i won 4-2 8)..

nux i can vouch for runt23 however he needs to cool down the skate in and blast from the blue line plays as they go in like crazy on rookie(his 1st shot he did that and scored so i took a puck from a goalie on the PK and put it in to even it out so all things were ok)after that i dont think he did it too much and if he tried id just block it w/ a poke check or a block...so hes ok just watch out for that he tries it quite a bit..if he stops doing that then he plays ok enough to be on this list

has anyone here played with RangerSucks before?

off topic- wohoo #5 with a 3-11 record. I wonder how many those games went OT? To the "newer" players that I just recently found, I was in a bad losing streak I cant wait till I get some rematches in.

Ruutu is goning to make the Finish diving team (Regarding the Van@Col 2/16)

Thats the problem with these games of people complaining. You either score to much or you score to less. You take to many 1 timers or you take to many slappers. They cannot make the game perfect. Infact i like the scoring less part. You have to play smart. And it will work out for ya.

nux19
March 4th, 2004, 02:53 PM
hockey you make absolutely no sense.

"You either score to much or you score to less"

so....huh?

"Infact i like the scoring less part. You have to play smart."

so...I rather have a superhuman goalie bail me out whenever I make a mistake. I do not want to pay for my defensive mistakes.

Seems to me your D is just not up to par. When I play good players, I feel lucky if i got 3 or more goals a game. Now your telling me that you can score basically at will yet you have yet to score more then 2 G on me in any game we have played.

"you have to play smart"
After another game on Pro I won in 3xOT, the only goal came on my 70th shot. Right, that was aloooooot of fun.

I'll play some Rookie Hockey, I'm always in the mood for a good game. Put me down, although I never see anyone in the Rookie rooms. Hit me up on AIM Giancarlo39 if you guys want to play. My game tag is RatedX, most of you guys know me by now. Peace.
