Has anyone noticed this when Choosing an INTL team?

Each Country is represented on the team screen by their National Flag or Logo..except the French who are represented by a Chicken!!!

I cant help but wonder if this is some hidden joke by VC.
And no Im NOT including our great Neighbors to the North. I have traveled extensively and found all of Canada and Montreal in particular to be a wonderful City with very nice people. ( im bummed you guys lost the Canadian Grand Prix.)

Anyway that logo says it all about those *&%$@&%#!!!

Q: How many Frenchmen does it take to defend the city of Paris?

A: Don't know...it has never been done!

You are so pathetic with your american pride...
First of all, happily that we know in France that all the americans are not of your kind. Fortunately for your country...
This emblem is ours for quite a while right now, and is quite world known...
But it's true that when you are an american nationalist with the Intelligence quotient of a potatoe you don't need to have some skills of geography or world history.
And i even don't answer to your joke of defending Paris,...
The name of Lafayette remind something to you?

Yeah it reminds me of how far BACK in history one has to go to find any example of a competent French army that didnt fall down and surrender at the first sign of German occupation. As Far as my geography skills, I am well aware of where France is Located and Im also Aware of Where Montreal, Quebec is located. Im also aware that your slogans on your License plates roughly translates in English to "I will remember". Maybe you should remember who bailed France out of not only one, but two world Wars.
Anyone who actually LIVES I the United States vividly remembers that in the hours following the attacks on 9/11 also remembers France actually question the intent of the terror purpotrated in those attacks. Given the Financial and military support the United States has afforded France since 1900, one would expect at very least some empathy concerning an barbaric attack on innocent lives

However, Your post says youre from Montreal, so maybe you were still too busy Whining and crying over the defeat of Meech-Lake accord to notice. Or maybe its got nothing to do with nationalism, rather youre just ignorant to the cold truth that if it werent for Allied forces coming to the rescue on two seperate occasions, youd all be Blond haired, Blue Eyed, Speaking German, and eating Saurkrat....and in the United States its spelled POTATO... Next time read the WHOLE post, I wasnt refering to French-Canadians.

You make me ashamed to be an American. If you were at all educated you would know that this country wouldn't even exist if the French didn't help us defeat the British in the American Revolution. In future, at least get a high school education before you badmouth an entire nation just because they are free thinkers.

Patriotism is a disease. Try thinking for yourself.

Oh please lets not go there. The French had their own ulterior motives for assisting the colonies in the American Revolution. The French were going through their own Civil turmoil at the same time of the colonies here and it was none other than Ben Franklin himself that negotiated a reciprcating scenario in which the colonies gave assistance to the french people in the form of arms and supplies in exchange for troops here.
As a person born in this country, I am neither overly patriotic or under-educated. Our occupation, interest and aggression in the Middle east is due to bottom line economics not national pride. Anyone who has ever bothered to, as you say "think for themselves" would realize this. The failure of France since the formation of the UN in post WWII to back ANY free nation in their interests (and just so you dont confuse my definition of "free" as an accusation of being some flag waving "patriot") governed by an actual government, be it socialist, democratic, communist or any other situation in which a dictator is not exploiting his own people for personal gain.. is completely and utterly inappropriate. This can be said of not only Iraq, but of situations Bosnia, Romania,Lybia etc.. The French have just as many economical and political interests in the United States as any other European nation, yet they are always one of the first to deny support to any nation seeking a diplomatic solution to a Policy problem or use of force to put an end to human rights violation by an overzelous regime. (Serbia comes to mind)
The United States has made many grave errors in world History, not the least which was our near genocide of the Native American, Vietnam, or our involvment in the affairs of the Middle east. All of these actions were at the expense of American Lives and neglecting our own domestic issues internally. Nor are we governed by a true democratic Goverment as we are force fed to believe by Washinton and the Media. However we are considered a benchmark of prosperity in the world arena, of which Many nations Including the french look to for many forms of assistance and aid. Perhaps my comments should have been Directed at the French government and its representatives, as I do not take any pride as an American at some of the aggresive behavior displayed by our own goverment.
My opinions are not based on blind ignorance nor on Patriotism, but at the same time do not subscribe to excersising a pacifist viewpoint that is "cover your eyes and it will all go away"which Has always been the attiude and position of the French Government throughout the last century. Rather they are based on the actions thoughout history of the the French in the world court we call the UN. Pehaps if YOU took the time to EDUCATE youself youd realize that point (which WAS the original point) instead of trying to dismiss those comments as being a foot in mouth patriotic disease...
It was just a comment, and it wasnt politically correct, but like it or not there was a grain of truth to it, and reality is seldom politically correct. Nothing Uneducated or Patriotic about it.

Now can We please just get back to Hockey? It was just a comment about a Chicken head on a hockey Jersey not a call to find fault in Idealogies, education or nationalism... be it American or French

I think ldpart67 argument was not only balanced but quite through.
If your gonna try to lambast someone for their views, make sure you come prepared with facts, not rhetoric about how the big bad americans want to rule the world.
Many people like to image americans as stupid fat and lazy. Truth is, this false image makes them feel better about themselves and less inferior.
Personally I thank G-D for the US of A
Yes , they have made bad decisions and good decisions, and overall, they are terrific neighbours
BTW I AM CANADIAN

Here are the facts:

1 in 5 Americans are classified as obese.

70% of Americans do not exercise.

If you want a statistic for how many Americans are stupid, just take a look at our President.

BTW I AM AMERICAN

Actually, the French turmoil started at around 1794... it had nothing to do with their problems. The enlightment didn't affect them yet.

I thought that it was something like 2/3 Americans is considered overweight(overweight is BMI 25+, obese is 30, healthy is 20-25), and something like 1/3 American women will be diagnosed with diabetes in their lifetime.

I could be wrong.

Luckily for us Americans, we have the global golden arches which will spread American obesity all over the world! Anyone else agree that hamburgers should come with a warning label like cigarettes? The surgeon general really needs to look into these cholesterol levels.
