I wanna see Fred Jones, but I'm not really feeling this dunk contest having only 4 people, common that's like one round.

I can't argue with who they picked, since I expect them all to be exciting. If only they could pick more. I'm happy they gave some leeway to Davis and went around the 3-year rule.

First off, I'm not a big fan of the Dunk Contest. It's the easiest shot in the game
But, if you think about past contests, you were always just waiting for the larger group to pare down to a manageable size. At least with only four guys, the agony will be over quickly and they can get on to some real tests of skill
Waiting on Peja..............

It's not about how easy it is, its about how good it looks.. Thats like saying you dont like the three point contest because it looks bad.

Seen one, seen 'em all...........
I'd be more impressed if they had to jam over a willing defense

Ricky Davis....wow.. Im sorry, but he had a sorry dunk in 2000. His dunks don't capture me like J Rich, Vince Carter, Steve Francis, or Tracy McGrady.
If I had a choice, I'd have Vince Carter, Desmond Mason, Deshawn Stevenson, and Steve Francis.
Then I would add some rules...
1.) You must use a teammate for at least one dunk
2.) Be creative and not use the same dunks we saw from last season
What happend to dunking over people in chairs? How about a 360, between the leg, honey dip? How about bouncing the ball off the backboard from the ground and throw it down with a windmill?

LeBron James plans to watch the NBA's dunk contest -- for now.
James was not among the four players the league announced Tuesday will take part in the event during All-Star weekend in Los Angeles. But the Cleveland Cavaliers' star rookie has been hinting at a possible surprise appearance.
Citing a sprained right ankle that sidelined him for three games, James recently turned down the NBA's invitation to be in the dunk contest. James could reconsider, however.
"I don't know," he said. "I'll think about it. There are a lot of people who want me to do it."
If James does decide to participate, the league would probably welcome him.
