What are the Chances ESPN would make a college football game.. At first i thought never. but they made ESPN college basketball. I think they could do a good football game. It would be interesting to see. EA sports NCAA series are great but i'd like to see more college football games... And if ESPN created a college game how would it hurt EA sports if any? one way I could see it hurting is in the way of annoucers would espn use the game day crew on their game and allow them to do both..Cause i'm guessing gameday crew's right are own by ESPN... I would love to see a ESPN college football game..I'm sorry if this was brought up here already..This is my first day on the boards.
Thanks

They had a version for 2k3, and i am sorry to say, that it blew. I don't think they used the same engine for both games, because they played differently. Not controls, but the motion of the game wasn't as smooth and refined as NFL 2K3. I am very big on the 2k series, and haven't played madden since the days of the genisis, but i"ll admit that the ea ncaa2004 is a very fun game. If I could manipulate the controls to match the 2k games, i would be in buisness, but that is not possible. I would like to see them take another stab at it, but they would have to put more effort into it.
p.s. the ncaa2k3 was such a pain, that it didn't even support the high def option, and i would have to hook up my regular video cables to play it, after a week i traded it in and got ncaa2004.

ESPN should make a college football game. However, it is going to be hard to compete with EA's college football game

I hope they do make one. I posted the same question in the "Other" topics area, since there's no college football section here.
I had a friend tell me ESPN is supposed to be working on a new game for release this fall. We will see if that acutally happens. Anyhow, they've had time to build/work off the NFL football games' programming and engine since it's been out at least a year.
I happen to love my NCAA 2K3 though. They just needed to fix a lot a flaws w/o making it impossible to ever beat the cpu. I can beat it fine...I'm actually playing with Akron in legacy and have them playing well. Akron do you believe that!!! I chose to pick a team I knew NOTHING about.

The NCAA 2K3 game was based of the NFL 2k2 engine. Thats why it didnt play anything like NFL 2K3.
It seems to me the biggest draw for a college game would be graphics and other eye candy. I think ESPN could dominate in that department easily. I think rights fees or some other EA / NCAA contract issues kept them from making a title this year.

I think 2k2 was the only one I never really played. It came out about the same time xbox did, and dreamcast was a dead system walking. I guess that explains a lot....
I think maybe it's sells dictated whether it was worth pursuing licenses for another go around... NCAA 2003 was a far superior product.

Your right. It was the DC I was playing it on.
