View Full Version : ANYONE ELSE PLAY THIS WAY?

Each year me and the same friend have seasons and I always construct my teams the same way. I only use players that formerly or currently played for the team I choose. This makes for interesting team building. Right now i have the NY Isles with Bertuzzi Yashin and Palffy on line 1, Straka Peca and Satan on line 2... I even try to reunite players, like Satan and Peca. Does anyone else play this way, and do u know if u can use teams like this online somehow?

I havent done this yet in this game, but I quite frequently do that when I play these games.
Like if Im Pittsburgh I'll bring back Jagr, Recchi and Francis, some others

My #2 focus right now, beaten by winning games, is getting Sergei Federov back with the Wings.

In 2k5 I created retired players from the early and mid 90's and threw them in the Mix on teams that they played most of their carriers with, such as Scott Stevens, Wayne Gretzky, Patrick Roy.... the list continues. Its pretty fun.
Im going to get into doing it again with this game pretty soon.

I have made some nasty teams for hall of fame franchises....I hate having players where they dont belong, so this way at least I can enjoy a little vintage hockey mixed with the current roster. I'll post some of my teams. Right now this is my team ;

I usually do something very similar. When i start a franchise i usually make some moves before i start the season. When i trade guys i tend to go for guys who have played for my team before. Just seems too unrealistic to me to be the Capitals and trade for like Yzerman or Iginla or someone like that. Heck I have even created Alan May and put him on the Caps for my season before, and a few years ago i had Dale Hunter make a comeback :wink: Makes it sort of fun.
