whats up with "drops"??? not mine, but my rank fal

SO i have broad band, and run through a linksys 4 port(hard wire, not wireless!) router. I have had a blank screen in the middle of a game(me winning)...then "waiting for opponent"..13, 12,, 11 etc then a disconnect. When I get back to the lobby, it shows a drop in my stats, and my rank has fallen??WTF??? It WASNT ME!!!!!! :evil:

this has gotten worse lately......I've been (trying to) playing online for a while now. I had good succes my first say, 3 games, but ever since it seems I get a drop no matter what.(it does seem like I drop when I'm winning). Anyway, out of the past 10 games, 8 have dropped.(waiting for oppenent.....connection lost/failed)
the weird thing is, this ONLY HAPPENS with ESPN Basketball. I play many other games online like Madden, Tiger woods, SOCOM, NCAA football and do not have similar issues.
for the record, I'm utilizing Broadband via cable and modem, with a Linksys router. Any ideas? Or are the servers jsut that "glitchy"???? :?: :!: :?: :!: :?:

I played 8 games total, and I have one drop and I never dropped out of a game. Maybe you should try connecting the Broadband directly to your PS2 instead of the router just for this game.

That happens to me all of the time. I don't drop on people but they do on me. Just like you said my rank falls for him dropping :evil:

well, I bought a 12dB amp to pwer up my Broad band and Dig.Cable, we'll se if this has any effect on it. :roll:

This happens to me all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It makes me so mad. It just happened to me. Right at the buzzer too! The guy i was playing was 8-0. I was beating him. The buzzer went off then it goes waiting for oponent 11, 10, 9, etc. Then it said lost connection to server please check your network cables. So i got the loss and he was awarded the win. I have had 6 drops in the past week. I am on dial-up so i thought it was disconnecting me everytime someone tried to call me. So is this not it? I don't have to get reconnected back to the internet I just have to log in to my ESPN account.

I would be ranked like #5 if it wasn't for all of these drops.

There's a way that peope can force drops and get the wins.... i think i know how although i never do it. I would tell you but i dont want the problem to keep getting worse.

well im sorry to tell people this but some people cheat when they lose they will use this weird "pull" to make them get win and u get drop
