KRIS BILLINGS GOES TO FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL

Florida (AP) - In what seems like a move for the better. Coach Kris Billings has decided to take Florida International up on their offer. The Step up from Highschool to the college ranks will be a new test for the former baller. Known for his drive to be number one.

Kris's first move as head coach was the hiring of Geoffery Finn and Bert Lowe. Finn being a very gifted and skilled recruiter will have his hands full this year trying to bring in some fresh talent for Billings. Now Lowe is a decent scouter and can pick apart a team piece by piece to find weakness to exploit.

Billings made a public statement today, talking alittle about his team and what he is looking for this year. "Let me first start off by saying Thank you for allowing me to come here and be apart of this great organization. This year is going to be a tough one and we will need the entire city to stick together through this, This might be a tough year. I am hoping to pull out around a 60% win percentage, that is just the start. We have some young talented players. Our starting lineup is going to be centered around our star, Abdul Dickerson. He is a 6'9" 230 pound monster of a center. Our ball general will be 6'2" 181 pound Rod Pratt. Our inside tough guys will be 6'7" 228 Thomas Burns, 6'5" 208 Jay R. Blalock, and 6'2" 206 Joseph Hooper. Personally we have high hopes for Hooper. This is his senior year and we expect him to make big plays and lead our team to the next level. Again thank you and remember to come out and support your Florida International Panthers."

Panthers come out looking for fresh blood

Florida (AP) - In the first game of the year, the panthers come out biting and scratching for a win as they kill the Howard Bison. The first half seemed to speak the tail of what the night would hold for the Bison's. Howard could do nothing to stop Florida's SG Joseph Hooper, who jumped on the bison's early into the first half putting up 9 points, one of those from behind the arch. Abdul Dickerson was the reason for the big win from florida. Dickerson just controlled the boards, if it went off the rim you could bet that Dickerson was coming down with the rebound finishing the first half with 8 rebounds.

Going into the locker room you could hear how pumped up FIU was. As the bison's came storming out of the locker rooms at the start of the second half you could have sworn they were in the lead. The crowd drifted into slience as what looked as if this might be a game again. 28-20 at the start of the second half was by far not enough of a lead to be comfortable. The panthers answer was plain as day only allowing the bison's to shoot 26.3% from the field. Pain also struck florida late in the 2nd half as PG Rod Pratt limped over to the bench. Coach billings said "No One knew what was wrong he has no one around him next thing you know he is over on the bench in pain." As Pratt took the pine, in came Will Holcomb back up PG. Who was the giver of good deeds as he finished with 4 assts. No one could contain Hooper and Dickerson. Hooper finishing with 19 PTS, 3 Rebs, 1 Assts. and Dickerson coming down with a total of 15 Rebs, 6 Pts for the game.

The Florida panthers could not have asked for a better showing for their new coach. This seems like it might turn out as a promising year for the panthers. Only bad news as of now is that Rod Pratt will be out anywhere from 2-3 weeks with a Hip Flexor, Will Holcomb will have to step up next few games.

Second Civil War has been Fought!!!

Florida (AP) - Words can't describe the game we saw tonight. It was a great showing by both teams. The second civil war has been fought and the south fell again. "This had to be game of the week!" stated Billings as he walked his tired hard fought boys to their bus.

George Washington is known for its outside shooting, but no one would of guess that this game would of turned into Battle of the boards. The Colonials came out the gate on fire hitting 16 unanswered points to start the game. It was not thier shooting that put them on top, it was thier rebounding. Only two words need to be spoken, Billy Munns. Center for the Colonials was a force that not even shaq himself could have prevented with the play of Munns tonight.

The panthers got into trouble early when their go to guy Joseph Hooper got into big foul trouble early with 3 fouls before he even got a shot. Having Pratt and Hooper out was a big loss for the Panthers early on in this game and having Dickerson just being schooled by Munns on the boards lead to a 16 point lead at Half.

Coming out in the second half, Hooper seeing his first min & shot fall right at the start of the 2nd. Gave insight to what was to come. What looked like a blow out in progress slowly turned into the Billy Munns and Hooper Show. As Hooper set out to be a one man team and bring his team back into the game with 1:34 left in the game down by 2. Will Holcomb of the panthers makes a Key steal with Thomas Burns on a fast break with him, 2 on 1 Holcomb throws a Ally Op to burns for a Tie game. Then the game went back and forth until the clock counted down and we were tied at the end 70 up.

Florida looking fired up and ready for a big win over the Colonials they look as if they just ran out of gas losing the game in OT 84-91. What a game is all that can be said, These players had heart and desire. Every player out their deserves great respect for the way they played tonight.

Florida International slides by Florida Atlantic

Florida (AP) - When you think of college basketball, you think of tradition, history, emotion, big plays, and of course 3 POINTERS. FAU came out raining down the 3s from outside and nothing FIU could do to contain the future superstar PG Channing Watson. Watson finished with 37 PTS, 8 Assts, going 7/13 at .538% from behind the arch tonight. If raining down 7 three pointers is not enough for ya. A familar face came and brung FIU a victory tonight. Abdul Dickerson was determined to get a win tonight. FIU could not hit their shots tonight, but Dickerson made sure they got enough chances. Rebound after Rebound the big powerfull center maintained the key.

The first half was more of a lets feel each other out and see what they have kind of deal, with each team coming out strong but not going to their true gameplan. FAU came out in the first hammering the ball to the key trying to get points in the paint. Once they noticed that Dickerson was going to have none of that they switched to some picks and started to move the ball around looking for the open mid range jumpers. All of a sudden a 12 point lead for FIU going into the half.

At the start of the second it was clear that FAU's head coach went over many different things to look for to try to over come FIU strong inside game. That is when Watson went off, raining down three after three. FAU went 9/18 from past the arch. The win came from second chance points, even though FIU was not hitting their shots Dickerson was giving them plenty of chances with a total of 34 second chance points.

joseph Hooper got into foul trouble again early and only played 11 min. The panthers great free throw shooting also help contribute to a hard fought win going 10/14 at .714% from the stripe. The key to the win was easly REBOUNDS with FIU having 56 boards and FAU only having 21, of those 21 only 2 were offensive, while FIU had 26 offensive boards. Great game. Coach Billings at the press conference said "I stated when I got here that Dickerson will be our key to success, as long as he is health and playing well look for us to have a great year."

FIU WINS!!! FIU WINS!!! FIU WINS!!

Florida (AP) - "FIU WINS!!!!" is all that could be heard coming screaming out of radios all around FIU campus. Coach Billins came out and made a public speak. "First i wanna start off by saying our guys played with more heart and desire than any other team out there right now. We were the under dogs coming into this game, us being at their home did not help matters either, but we stuck together played as a team and came out with a W. I also wanna give a heart felt good game to the Miami team who played tough out there."

At the start of the game no one would of guessed FIU would be coming away with a win in this one. Miami was clearly the more talented team, they just did not play well in this one. Shooting 25.0% from the field in the first half will not get you a win. At tip off Miami won the tip and drove out for a quick three, which looked like it was going to be a long game. FIU countered with who else, BIG number 52 Abdul Dickerson leading the Panthers in scoring and rebounds. "What makes a leader and a Superstar is someone who can step up to big challenges and over come, Dickerson showed that tonight" stated Miami's head coach.

Things went bad early when Miami's star C Dennis Doyle got ran over by Hooper driving to the basket. Doyle left the game with a severe Concussion with what looks like will put him out of action anywhere up to 6 weeks. Having Doyle leave the game is when things started to look bad for Miami when no one could contain Dickerson. Panthers only had 2 guys go double digits tonight and if it was not for Dickerson then you could have chalked up a loss for them. Miami shot horrible tonight and was in foul trouble early. "Nothing went right for us" said Bernie Reynolds of Miami who finished with 20 PTS, 3 REBs, 3 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 Blk, 2/3-.667% 3 point land.

Panthers now move to 3-1. If Dickerson can stay health then this year may be very good for the new coach. If you compared these teams on paper you would have guessed the game would have been close like it was. If you would have just went off on personel then everyone would of picked Miami to win. Stats don't lie and Miami has not been playing up to their potential this year, poor play will lead to big losses such as this one.

They are adveraging 84.8 PPG, 36.5 RPG, and shooting 40.1% from the field. The panthers are adveraging 80.8 PPG, 47.5 RPG (number 1 in the NCAA), and shooting 49.0% from the field. If FIU can dominate the boards as they have been able to with most teams they encounter then expect FIU to rise to the challenge and put La Salle at 3-2. If La Salle can put Dickerson out the picture then they might have a shot at putting the panthers on Ice.

ONE MAN SHOW!!!!

Florida (AP) - Nothing but good things could be said about how good both teams played tonight. They both came out and played their hearts out. One man tonight was very special for the La Salle Explorers. Coach Billin's made this statement after the game.

"Woody Hunt of La Salle is a future star. He is a above adverage caliber player, at this level he can just dominate. We ran full time double teams on him, played him tight coverage the whole game yet he still puts up 43 PTS. If a player can overcome all that pressure and still create openings to score there is nothing we could do but play tough. On top of Hunt we had Larry Scott who made some amazing passes tonight. Our scouting report told us to watch Scott that he was a dealing wizard and that him and hunt make a killer combo but we came into this game as we have the last and we did our best."

The first half was FIU up by three, with Dickerson having a great game. He had 6 PTS, 11 Rebs in the first. Pratt was back tonight for the first time since game one. He got off to a great start putting 4 pts on the board very quick and looking like he might be a force tonight, but early foul trouble and he looked rusty at other parts of the game. He only finished with 8 Min, 8 Pts. Now a guy we have not heard alot out of had a stand out night tonight. Thomas Burns of FIU had a Season high of 19 PTS, 5 Rebs tonight and was the high scorer of FIU.

Coming out in the 2nd you could tell right from the start that La Salle had something up thier sleves. Doubling Dickerson and traping him out of getting boards really lead to bad news in the 2nd half. Dickerson was held to 1 reb in the 2nd. Hunt came out and just lighted it up from out side the arch going 5/7 - .714%. and went 16/27 - .593% from the field. If FIU could of contained the killer duo Hunt and scott then this might have had a different out come.

SOUTH FLORIDA BULLS VS FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL
SCORE - South Florida 65 - FIU 72

Florida (AP) - Rumble in florida has been fought and FIU emerged with a win tonight. Both teams tonight played very well. This was a rather normal basketball game compared to what FIU has been having lately. Dickerson was just horrible tonight and played the worse he has since Billin's has arrived as head coach. Jackson back up Center for Dickerson came in and did a fine job of stepping up and filling Dickersons shoes finishing with a double double.

The First half was South Florida up by five, with no one on FIU having a great night. Everyone just stuck together as a team and played as a team out there.

The second half was the Rod Pratt show with him putting up 13 points near the end of the game to ice the win for FIU. South florida just could not counter FIU dominating inside game, even with Dickerson out. Leading scorer for FIU was Pratt with 15 Pts, 2 Rebs, 3 Assts, 1 Stl, 1 Blk. Leading scorer for South Florida was Booker Miles with 11 Pts, 2 Rebs, 3 Assts.

Stanford can't hold down Jack jackson
SCORE = Stanford 57 - FIU 72

Florida (AP) - The score in this one for sure does not give a good example of how close this game really was till 2:30 left in the game. Stanford came into this one off two big defeats and have not been playing up to par with some of the other schools. Looking at the pre game stat sheets everyone was expecting FIU to dominate the boards and come out with a close win. Even though Stanford had the more talented players, second chance points would determine this one.

Coming out in the first half everything looked right how it should with stanford holding a six point lead comfortable in front and not allowing FIU to catch any ground. The first half was Dickerson's time to see if he has pulled out of the slump from last game. That can clearly been seen that he has not only putting up 6 Pts, 7 rebs. Jack Jackson stepped up again for Dickerson and gave this FIU team another W in the book. Jackson only played nine minutes, yet he still put up 15 Pts, 7 Rebs, 1 Stl , 1 Blk.

Leading the Panthers out on to the floor for the second half was team leader Joseph Hooper who has not had any good games since like game one. Tonight was hopefully the turn around point for Hooper who put up 17 Pts, 3 Rebs, 3 Assts, 2 Stls for tonight. He was leading scorer for FIU and helped pull through this game with some big time shots.

Now with Stanford leading 80% of the game you would of never expected to see a finial score of 72-57. Up till 2:30 left in the game stanford was up by 4 and had FIU scrambling to find a way to pull out of a lead. Coach Billins' started going over some stats and noticed that Archie Montague was the guy killing FIU. Montague was sitting with 4 fouls so coach Billins put pressure on Montague and got him to get some contact for a foul to foul him out of the game. That is when Stanford went into a slide and did not score for the rest of the game and FIU just pulled away.

SCORE = FIU 80 - Sam Houston 61

Florida (AP) - Not much to really say about this game. Everyone knew that FIU was going to put a pounding on Sam Houston. Sam Houston just does not have the bodies inside. FIU has become known for their killer rebounders which give them many looks. FIU just dominated the glass and gave Sam Houston only 6 offensive rebounds with a total of 23 rebounds. FIU almost doubled with 45 rebounds for the night.

FIU GETS SMASHED BY ASU!!!
Score = ASU 90 - FIU 74

Florida (AP) - What a game this was. FIU and ASU clashed in a great game. This turned into battle of the three ball, with ASU just raining down threes all game long from where ever they choose to take them. ASU hit 7 threes in the game while FIU could only land 4. FIU was battling for the lead most of the game and took the lead once in the first and once in the second half. With 4:00 min left in the game ASU pulled a nine point lead and just started running from there.

The First half was looking like it was going to be one of Jay R. Blalock good games with him hitting a couple of long shots. Then something terrible happened. While battling for a rebound, Carter of ASU came down and started throwing elbows in the paint to clear some room and he nailed Blalock in the elbow dislocating it and putting him out for up to 9 weeks. This was a bad start to a big game. Then Hooper got into foul trouble early getting two charging calls almost back to back. This was a tremendous job by both teams just FIU could not hit the shots and ASU capitilized on every chance they had.

ASU no jumps out to (9-0) and (1-0) in conference. While FIU falls to (6-3) and (0-1) in conference. The Media does not think it is FIU's year to win the conference. Even though they meet ASU again next month. They will have to win almost all the rest of their games to compete with ASU for the conference champs.

BAD NEWS FROM TEAM DOCTOR

Walking with his head hung low you could tell something was wrong from Coach Billins as he went bcak to his desk. Jay R. Blalock walked in and sat down to talk to coach who had called him in.

Jay R.: "Hey coach whats up?"

Coach Billins: "Hows the elbow Jay?"

Jay R.: "Hurts like a B**** coach but I am doing everything the doc told me so I can get back out there."

Coach Billins: "Thats what i called ya in here for Jay, i just got out of Docs office and he has some bad news. You won't be able to play the rest of the year Jay."

Jay R.: "That is BULL SH**!!!! This is my senior year coach, don't tell me you are going to bench me my senior year. I can't believe this is happening. ok ok say I can get some rehab and get my arm back into the shape it was in early this year will you consider letting me play?"

Coach Billings: "Only way I can do that is if Doc clears you, you know that. I will make you a promiss though Jay, I will do my best to get some scouts in here to watch film and get you some Pro scouts checking you out."

Jay R.: "Alright coach, i am outta here. Holla at me later."

FIU GIVES AR-LITTLE ROCK A BEATING
Score = FIU 81 - UALR 51

Florida (AP) - Florida International was unstoppable tonight. If this FIU team would of showed up against Arkansas State I think we would of had a different out come. This win has given new hope to the fans of maybe FIU pulling a Conference win out this season.

In the First half Rod Pratt came to play putting up 14 Pts in 8 min. He pulled out all the stops throwing up a ally op, 2 three pointers, and just flat out dominating this UALR team. Both teams went back in forth in the first, UALR even had the lead for about two mins left in the first. That all changed come out the 2nd half and Rod Pratt on the prowl again.

Shane Woods started his first game, backing up the injuried Jay R. Blalock. Woods had a decent night with 6 Pts, 4 Rebs, 1 Ast, 1 Stl. Dickerson on the other hand had ANOTHER off night. This makes like 4 games that the so say star has been completely useless for the FIU Panthers. The Panthers rely heavy on this kid and since he has not been showing up to play lately they have been struggling to win some games.

The UALR Trojans were flat out killed in just about every field they have a stat for. They could not win on the boards, shooting, turnovers, PIP, second chance points, ect ect you name it and they most likely failed to beat FIU. UALR just got flat out beat.

INSIDE THE LOCKER ROOM

Coach: "Nice win out their men, i want to congrat you all on great team work out there. It takes guts to come off a big loss like we had last week and come in here ready to win like you all did."

Hooper(loud mouth): "Coach, them boys knew they could not take us. I saw when we walked on the court during shooting drills that they were scared."

Coach: "Sure ya did Hoop(sarcasim). I want to give out a game ball to one of our outstanding players tonight. Rod, here ya go. You did a outstanding job out there tonight, keep it up son."

Pratt: "Thanks coach, I did not do this alone tonight. We all did this."

Coming up this Saturday FIU faces Canisius. Canisius is having a terrible year standing at (0-13)

Canisius is currently adveraging 53.8 PPG, 34.0 RPG, and shooting 39.2% from the field.

FIU is currently adveraging 78.9 PPG, 43.2 RPG, and shooting 49.6% from the field.

This should be a easy win for FIU who is standing at (7-3)(1-1). Billings is more concerned with next Saturdays game against Denver (10-1). Denver will be another big conference game for FIU.

FIU PULLS OUT WIN OVER DENVER!!!
Score = Denver 80 - FIU 84

Florida (AP) - Oh my god is all that can be said wbout this game. FIU came and played their hearts out to barly take the Denver Pioneers. This was a heart stopping game.

FIU and denver battled the whole first half to see who would go into the locker room at the half with a lead. FIU pulled out with a nine point lead that lasted till 2:00 min left in the game. That is when all the fear set in that they might loss.

Denver being down nine with a few minutes left came out firing from deep and raining down every three they took. Taking the lead with 12 secs left. Inbound pass to Thomas Burns, 13 footer.....shssssss....nothing but the bottom of the net to tie it up 71-71.

Coming out in OT the Denver fans were hyped up and thier momentum was sky high, all the fans just knew Denver was going to come away with a win. That is when Denver just ran out of steam making the come back. All their players were tired and just barly made it down court each trip. FIU on the other hand has Bryant still fresh and came out shaking & baking the D to a 84-80 win.

Coach made the statement at the press conference.

"This was a huge win for our guys. We are all looking for a conference title this year and beating Denver helps us get just that much closer to making it come true. Our guys came out and gave it their all, all that can be said about this game is our kids showed they had heart and desire. "

Next Monday FIU travels to meet conference match up North Texas (8-4)(1-1). North Texas is another tough challenge for FIU.

North Texas is adveraging 83.6 PPG, 34.7 RPG, and shooting 42.5% from the field

I am getting no love anywhere in the country. ULL from the sun belt is getting alot of love though. They are 2 points off the top 25. i play then in 2 games so if I can pull a win out then i might get some then. ULL is two time defending sun belt conference champs, so knocking then out of first would be a big win for me but bad thing is that loss to Arkansas State. they are sitting in 2nd right in front of me and I don't face then till next month so till then I need them to loss a conference game. i have another hard game coming up though against North texas so this will be interesting.

I hear ya'......it's the marquee matchups that we all have to concentrate on during the season games......but the trick is not to overlook somebody before those marquee matchups.

That's why they play the game.....I guess.

Again, that's a HUGE win over Denver in OT (sounded like it was action-packed for sure).

Good luck man.....I'll be checkin' in on your boys.

P.S.....It's always tough to get any love from the pollsters. And once you do crack through the barrier....you can't stumble at all, or you'll disappear
from the "Others" or the Top 25, for sure.

While Michael Southall is a monster in the paint so tune in next week for the run down on if I can claim a win from the two time defending champs ULL Ragun Cajuns.

FIU COMES AND BATTLES NORTH TEXAS
Score = FIU 87 - NT 64

Florida (AP) - Florida International came out on fire, showing that they are willing to stand up to some of the bigger teams and compete. North Texas is a small power house in the Sun Belt conference but if you looked at this game you would have thought they were a mid tier team.

Anthony Wheeler of North Texas is a one man team putting up 20 Pts. No one else on the North Texas team had double digits in scoring. Florida International on the other hand had five guys go double digits and also one man having a double double.

FIU came out and dominated the boards just like they do with most teams. If a team can contend with FIUs boards then that team might have a chance at beating FIU. The only way to stop FIU is to stop their boards. North Texas tried it tonight with them Doubling Abdul Dickerson the whole game all over the floor which in turn created space for other guys to get the ball in the hoop, yet Dickerson still finished with player of the game honors. Maybe Dickerson's cold streak has ended. We will soon find out when next week FIU and Defending sun belt champs ULL clash in what is sure to be a very intense game.

First Half
FIU - 41
NT - 33

In a very close first half FIU shot the 3 ball very well with 3/6 - .500%. Pratt lead the charge in the first half with 11 PTS, 2 Rebs, 2 Asts, 1 Stl, 1 Blk. On the other end of the floor North Texas's Anthony Wheeler is is only reason the were as close in the first with 14 Pts, 1 Ast, 1 Blk.

Second Half
FIU - 46
NT - 31

In the second half Defense was the key as FIU held North Texas to 31 points in the 2nd. NT Chris Alexander was the game leader in assists with 10 for the game and was one of the only reasons North Texas stayed as close as they did.

KEY PLAYER STAT
FIU
Pratt - 15 Pts, 3 Rebs, 2 Asts, 1 Blks, 2 Stl
+Great shooting, decent defense
- should of passes the ball more
Dickerson - 14 Pts, 11 Rebs, 1 Stl, 2 Blks
+ Great all around play, shot .857%
- No bad play this game
Rhodes - 16 Pts, 1 Reb, 1 Stl
+ untouchable shooting night,FG% 6/10 -.600%, 3% 4/6 - .667%
- Not enough min for this kid, could pass more.

North Texas
Wheeler - 20 Pts, 2 Asts, 1 Blk
+Great play tonight, shot was on
- Needs to be more physical and get rebounds
Leadbetter - 9 Pts, 1 Blk
+ Drew some good fouls
- Bad night, Double teams kill this kid
Tatum - 6 Pts, 5 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 Stl
+ Big and physical, good at free throw line
- Tight Pressure makes him give it up early, to many turnovers

PLAYER OF THE GAME
Abdul Dickerson
14 Pts
11 Reb
1 Stl
2 Blk
FG% 6/7 - .857%
FT% 2/2 - 1.00%

Looking Ahead
OH here we go the big game has arrived. This Saturday FIU(10-3)(3-1) comes home to face ULL. Louisiana Lafayette(9-1)(4-0) is currently leading the Sun Belt conference like they do every year. Being the 2 time defending champs is putting alot of pressure on FIU to take that away from them.

ULL is adveraging 78.8 PPG, 32.5 RPG, FG% 44.8%, 3% 39.6%

FIU is adveraging 78.8 PPG, 42.5 RPG, FG% 49.2%, 3% 30.7%

This looks like a close match up, only thing that may play a key role is the rebounding. If FIU can control the boards this could be a huge upset. If ULL can counter with their great 3 point game then this might go down to the wire. Tune in soon for stats and info on this big Sun Belt conference game.

Florida (AP) - Good news spread quick though out the florida region when FIU got placed on the other list of the RPI rankings. FIU HAS BRUNG DOWN THE CHAMPS
Score = FIU 89 - ULL 63

Florida (AP) - What a night this was for the Florida International Panthers. They could not miss from anywhere on the floor and just made every basket for the Cajuns a tough one. FIU finshed the night 3/5 - .600% from past the arch.

The place FIU really put it to the cajuns was rebounding. The second half was just a showcase of Dickerson's ability to play multi positions, as he was moved from center to power forward and moving jackson in to center so the big men stayed on the floor and held the cajuns at bay on the boards.

In a scouting report a few days ago, coach billins said that Boyd was a terror from down town and southall was a monster on the boards. Well most of that was true. Boyd murdered from down town going 6/12 - .500% from past the arch. Now as for a southall, he was leading in the first on the boards but billins made some key switchs at the start of the second half and limited Southall to zero boards or the 2nd, thats right ZERO. If that was not a key turning point of the game I don't know what was.

First Half
FIU - 43
ULL - 31

FIU came out ready to prove to the whole nation who is going to be the sun belt conference champs this year, jumping out to a 8-0 lead early in the game. Then FIU had a untouchable shooting half going .679% from the field and 3/3 from past the arch. On top of that they held ULL to .382% from the field and 2/7 from past the arch. The battle of the boards is really close with both teams about even.

Brad Boyd of ULL had a great first half putting up 10 Pts, 1 Reb, 1 Stl. Then just as expected Michael Southall is leading at the half in rebounds with 4.

Second Half
FIU - 46
ULL - 32

The second half was just a pathic showing from the ULL Ragun Cajuns. ULL could not hit a shot tonight and fell to hard on shooting the three. Now Boyd on the other hand for ULL was the only player that was a force to contend with putting up 26 Pts, 1 Reb, 1 Stl.

Key Players
FIU
Pratt - 18 Pts, 1 Reb, 4 Asts, 2 Stl, 1 Blk
+Decent shooting, had great handle tonight.
- Horrible turnovers, poor foul trouble early
Hooper - 13 Pts, 5 Rebs, 4 Asts, 1 Stl, 1 Blk
+Untouchable shooting, ability to create space
- Foul trouble, lack of ball handle skills leads to turnovers
Dickerson - 14 Pts, 11 Rebs, 2 Asts, 1 Blk
+ was a sleeper tonight putting up boards under the radar
- Nothing bad played multiple positions great

ULL
Landry - 11 Pts, 1 Ast,
+ 8 min 11 Pts, great bench player
- Jacked up to many 3s, small frame gets killed in the lane
Boyd - 26 Pts, 1 Reb, 1 Stl
+ 6/12 - .500% from 3, did everything to keep team in game
- foul trouble, did not get other players into game
Green - 12 Pts, 2 Reb, 7 Ast, 1 Stl
+ Great ball movement, fast hard to contain,
- Terrible shot 4/17 - .235%

PLAYER OF THE GAME
Abdul Dickerson
14 Pts
11 Reb
2 Ast
1 Blk
FG% 7/11 - .636%

Looking Ahead
FIU has improved to (11-3) and (4-1) in conference and currently tied with ULL for first in the Sun Belt.

This Monday FIU travels to meet New Mexico St.(5-8 )(2-3). New mexico is currentlly sitting pretty far down in the sun belt but a loss to FIU would kill thier chances at a shot at the title.

NMst is adveraging 69.5 PPG, 34.2 RPG. FG% 43.0%, 3% 32.5%

FIU is adveraging 79.6 PPG, 42.6 RPG, FG% 50.0%, 3% 31.6%

It seems like your three point percentage is pretty good, are you using your realism sliders? And how is your team on three pointers? Do you have guys in the 40's? I am using El Prez's 2.55 sliders and shooting less than 30 from behind the arc.

I have one guy I shoot alot of 3s with in my games, Rhodes he is a 50 rating behind the arch, everyone else between high 30s to single digits.

yea FIU is actully not that good and did terrible this year. i am getting great realistic stats on a broad level, but it seems I have gotten better with these sliders cause I am shooting in the high 40s to low 50s with FIU which I really should not be so Next season i will lower med **** % back down to 10 cause that was were it was before and we bumped it up cause we thought the fg% was kinda low but now since I got better with the sliders I should need to drop it back. Then I will for sure have a record like them (5-22) lol so yea i have noticed what you have pointed out it is i don't wanna change my sliders mid season. Beginning of next season.

bait give me some info on what u having probs with so i can tell you what to do and i should be able to fix it right away. If it is that you are still getting to high a fg% then the med % should be lowered to 10 maybe even 9 if you have some decent shooters.

Right on bro....I lowered the FG% some (10) now....that seems to have tamed it down some.

I appreciate your concern to my ?........thanx again...and keep on rockin'

OK here is what all yall missed. I lost in my conference tourny, did not make it to big dance and recruite a decent C and SG. Now I am in my second year, playing with the new Role Play sliders. I am FIU (0-3 ) . The new sliders make it very realistic as far as stats. I almost came out and beat ASU. Web page is being reset up for this season so I will be post stats, scores, run downs, injuries, recruites, conference standings, Heros or Goats out looks, and whatever else I can think of so come check site out around this weekend.

FIU DOES IT....FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

Florida (AP) - FIU(1-3)comes out aginst Wofford (0-2). FIU was getting handled badly on the boards and were not getting enough looks at the basket even though they were shooting decent for the night.

First half was FIU trailing the whole way, until they gained some momentum and made a 10 point run putting them one in front of wofford at the half with Dooley hitting a buzzer beater 3 to put them ahead.

Coming out in the second half seemed like FIU never lost the momentum jumping out to a 13 point lead with a half starting 3 by pratt. FIU then went on to have pratt foul out and loss alot of momentum putting wofford right back into it falling to a small 3 point lead. Which 2:00 remaining Dickerson stepped up like a true hero drawing two fouls and two 3 point plays. jumping out to a 9 point lead at the end with wofford hitting a inside jumper to end the game.

Score
FIU 67 - WOF 60

FG%
FIU 42% - WOF 47%

PLAYER OF THE GAME
Abdul Dickerson
15 PTS
9 Reb
2 Ast

Coming up next week is the very powerful Southern Miss (2-0).

Ahhhhh......that first "W" under your team's belt.
Most excellent, indeed.

The roleplay sliders are indeed spot-on, man.
As always great job with the tweaking of realism.

Np man.....Man it is SOOOOO much harder to take a career team and make them do well. Most lily with the Role Play sliders you will encounter realistic wins and loses I have found out lol. ASU stomped me most the game but I almost pulled it out. Someone else beat me buy 30 i can't remember who cause I am at work and I don't have my schedule in front me.

ROLE PLAY SLIDERS ARE THE GREATEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO FIU

I only had a few games left in my first season with the REALISM sliders so i simulated the rest of the year, team lost in conference tourny of course and I did my recruting ect ect. and started the second season with the Role play sliders and I am staying with this till the next COLLEGE hoops. The is sooo challenging, realistic and fun all at the same time. The win over Wofford was not one of those wins where you know you can dump it down low ANYTIME and score and always stay in the lead like how we all became at the game since we all play it so much. The game moved just like a real game. BACK and FORTH with teams hitting streaks of momentum pulling ahead of pulling closer or even taking the lead from the other team. I just so happened to hit a nice streak at the end to win.

I am so happy with the sliders

Holla at ya boy
