Seriosuly this has been overlooked since 2K3, and is a MAJOR flaw......

Fix the Collision Detection and you fix alot of problems,

1. No Puck Riding inside the blade of the stick
2. No Magnet Launched Shots (Puck Never touches stick but is shot)
3. Players Shooting thru legs, goal posts, bodies etc... i mean, no way a player can shoot and have his stick just magically go thru another players stick, body or whatever, and if they do shoot and it hits another players stick, have like a 4% chance of the stick breaking, or a stick strength in the code so after enough hits and stuff it will break..

4. no pucks going thru goalie pads, or backs of the net etc..
5. no pucks going thru the boards or sticks going thru the boards
6. Seems That Bulk of Collision Problems is During Animations, ie.. the Collision points are dropped during certain frames or something i dunno ou desined the game not me...

You cannot tell me that 9.6 GHz of Symmetric power isnt enough to run with at least 15-20 collision points making up 2 or 3 collision boxes on the sticks and 32 points on the puck to make a round box for collision detection,

Along with Shooting Animations, the puck doesnt magically follow the shooters stick... which enables the players to take slap shots that the normally wouldnt be able to normally.. same thign with wraparrounds, the puck magically rides the back rim of the goal to the shooters stick at the post....

Seriously, You Fix the Collision Detection,
You Get Better Gameplay
ie.... More Misfired shots, broken sticks, better pass blacking on defense.. etc...

You Get Better Presentation
ie... The Puck dont Ride inside the blade of the stick, replays wont show magnet launched shots.. no more pucks and sticks thru players bodies and other sticks and goal posts..

Im Not Ranting, I Enjoy the 2K Sports Titles tremendously But This is Just a Major Problem that should be addressed in the 360 version since the power is there..

Please just read what I Posted and take a step back and look at the game.. and give me an honest answer about how the collision detection would effect gameplay....

Good post. Don't know if they will take care of that this year or not. but i agree with what you say. I'm guessing next year's title.

I'm glad i qualify as not "relatively important"

If you were think devs would respond to your post, you're crazy

the devs dont monitor these post 24/7. Ive posted on nba and have 65 people responding to what can make the game better. but no devs.

about once every 2 weeks i think the look over them to get Ideas.

OMG got the XBOX after 12 hours today and these issues are SO fixed. I always play against my friend's Lightning and a pass went right through the spot between Lecavalier's stick blade and skate and to my center....

The goalie saves in this game are way better and the geometry/physics of the puck are insane.

The individual skate marks are more detailed than I could have imagined. When my player cut sharp to cut around the back of the net, the skate marks stop where his skate leaves the ice, etc.

I played about 120+ games of NHL 2K6 on Xbox and I'm seeing some refreshing, exciting shots and flow to this game.
