View Full Version : Regarding the 'S' move

What's is really irritating me now is ppl whining about this move. First off, in real life, this is called a deke which actually works quite well when i play hockey in real life. It is not a glitch, it is just a move that ppl do when they get a breakaway or open ice in front of the net. This move CANNOT win u a game if your oppenent has half a brain and defends by clogging the middle rather then trying to get a fluke hip check on you. Also I love how ppl say i can only score doing that. First off if u pay attention u see that i score usually more then half of my goals with cross ice one timers. Second if I'm beatin you with just one move thats pathetic as all you'd have to do is block the left side of the net with your player and i'll never get a goal. PPL have tried that and since I dont only use that move i win in flying colors. You CANT got 106-1 with just one move, LOL. I play ppl all the time that know how to use that move and I dont lose, and do u see me complaining that they use it? NO BECAUSE ITS EASY TO DEFEND. I understand complaining about no line changes mainly thats for ******s to use, but the 'S' move is simply a deke that works because its a move that works in REAL life.

And you're just very immature .
And Mill there was no reason for this thread as people just don't like to lose... it's a fact that people are gonna ***** when they are defeated. You are defending yourself for no reason, other then to try to displace your feeling of frustration because people are not enjoying your presence and bowing down to your record.

I don't play the game online but since i suck with the deke button i use the S move whenever i am on a breakaway and have for years in the hockey games. Not sure why this guy is the first to be beating teams badly with it- i assumed most people used it or the deke stick. Kudos to you for being good. Boo on you for backhanded bragging saying your defending yourself with you post.

I'm so freakin tired of the predictable 's' move. Why? Cause it's a guaranteed goal 90% of the time!!!
For example: If your down by one with less than 5 minutes left the only thing thing you will be concentrating on is busting the played out 's' move. Cause you know it's your best chance of tying it up. Do NHL teams repeat the exaxt same plays in the waning seconds of the 3rd? Hell no!! Admit it people, it's just not realistic.
Anyone who uses that move has absolutely no skill.
And yes, it is a utter and complete glitch. Just watch the goalie move from left to right and vice versa when you're zig-zagging. If any of you chumps ever played hockey in your lives you would know that a goilie will not follow you outside the crease unless you're in his crease.
The reason why people complain when you losers do your 's' move is cause it changes the dynamic of the game. It becomes an 's' game instead of a realistic hockey game.
I always score with cross-ice one-timers, deflections, blue line blasts, or I simply use the deke button. But as soon as one of you skill-less wonders out there busts the 's' move I stop playing the fun way and just do the 's' move until it's 10-1. But that's just not fun.
I really don't care if anyone reads this, just stop claiming that the 's' move takes skill cause if it did, everyone and their mother's wouldn't be doing it.
P.S. Millionaire, stop bragging about your record in 'PRO', come try me in 'HALL OF FAMER'.

First off, if you're playing the game for realism then ur an idiot as this game does not catch the dynamics of hockey at all. The 'S' move is the only way to deke in the game anyways and is not a glitch, its a deke. Anyways i play the comp all the time on Hall of Famer and always win... with what moves do you ask? Well saucer pass one timers work well but nothing beats the 'S'. And its quite sad if u cant defend just one simple move. You can quite literally plant a guy in the left side of the net and that move is useless. So quit your whining and just play the game. Oh and the only point of rank in this game is for bragging rights and I'll brag as much as i dam well please.

He's exactly right, maybe some of you have never played hockey, but the deke is a great opportunity to score in real life...it should work....and maybe you should just learn how to stop it. And yah, you can't win everytime with 1 move, you have to learn other aspects. my last 32 games i'm 30-2 because of this. Just take the time to learn the game, it's just realistic gameplay. Oh and about that quit, and 4 drops.>i actually did drop out of 2 games cause of horendous lag, But 1 quit and 2 remaining drops are from ppl who pulled the plug and froze my PS2, Aggg, it's so frustrating just wanted to clean that up.

Ya as for my 1 quit and 2 drops well after playin 200 games its unavoidable really. One drop i had cuz my power went out and the other cuz of a super laggy game. As for my quit somehow my pause menu expired even though i was barely in it and the guy took the win so I was a little steamed.

If the 's' move takes skill, why is it the only move all you lame newbs can do?
Learn to play without the glitch lamers!
BTW, Cloutier will never tear it up. He stinks and the canucks are just wasting the careers of some very talented players.

"S" move was a bug in 2k3 because the goalie would stick to the post. In Espn Hockey it may be a money goal (only at higher gamespeeds) but it is not a bug anymore. If you can do it and score then you just earned a goal.
Learn to stop it or learn to use it. You can't complaint just because it is a move that works.

It's not that complicated. Some people prefer using the defense over using the goalie. Personally, I never use the goalie because he is seperate from the team. The game is designed for controlling the skaters, if the game was designed for controlling the entire team the goalie would have a lot more that 1 save button. Until developers can master the programming involved to make the goalies more lifelike, human use of the goalie will be unrealistic.

There's the poke check and the slash....all I was trying to say is that if you REALLY wanna stop that move...your last line of defense is the goalie...if you can learn to use it you can be deadly...I've played all sorts of hockey games...EA, ESPN, etc...my friends used to have their little 'tournaments' and they all had their way of scoring....I always used the goalie....once I knew them, I figured how to stop them...Hey they used to play for money...and I never lost....they used to get so frustrated with me...all cause of the way I used the goalie...all it takes is practice....like I said..If you really wanna stop that move...'S' move or whatver...knowing how to use the goalie CAN help you!

seriously people i think you need to stop complaining about this so called "s" move, if you think people are being cheap by using it then why dont you JUST ****ING USE THE MOVE BACK i mean seriously if it always gets them goals then it should the same for you right?
and as for whoever thinks that mill is just making up excuses for his drops and quits you need to understand that there are people online who are incredibly laggy and just wont agree to quiting so you get screwed over and there are cheap SOB's who just take the win when your pause timer expires i have run into a few of them, and as for the power turning off IT HAPPENS, so before you blast mill for making up excuses just think and if you can tell me nothing has happened so that you get an unnecisary quit or drop then you are a ****in liar
