According to this article teams will now have to talk trade for Owens instead of just acquiring him as a FA. Doesn't look like he'll be in Baltimore afterall as I highly doubt we trade anything for him :(

What a load of cr_ap.... I can't believe that Owens still has this agent, considering that he may end up costing Owens ALOT of money because he didn't file some paperwork in time.
Guess Owens should have pulled out his Sharpie and signed...

Musa Smith is a solid player with alot of promise in this league....
Draft picks can be used for trades as well....As well as cash......
There are others out there as well...but we will see...

IMO Owens is not worth the cash he is going to want anyway. He didnt even have that good of year and it was his FA year where most players usually over achieve to get paid.
He is not a winner.

No doubt .....he will be the running back of the future.....for the Ravens....he was going to carry a heavier load anyway this year ....
But i think Jamal will be with the team come the start of the season...
I just know the Ravens are looking for WR help.....who knows who it will be now.....

looks like Terrel Ownes might be a free agent after all!!!!!
Good news for Baltimore...or Tampabay,Phily or any other team that wanted him...he filed a grievence with the league and could be ruled Eligable for free agency after all..........!! Good news for all!!! Peace@love

I heard from a reliable sorce that even if the grivence hearing isnt upheld
the 49ers would be willing to to part ways with TO for a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick in this years draft......This is great news for the Ravens who have a good 2nd round spot and would be willing to part with it for TO.....another bright spot if this happens ..TO's Salary is around 5.9 million a year for the next 3 years...Baltimore was going to offer him at least 8.3 million over 4 years ...so this could actually save Baltimore a nice chunk of salary cap .....If TO goes to Baltimore it might be the best fit ...he would have a Lockeroom leader in Ray Lewis who might keep TO in line and in the right direction...something he didnt have in San Fran...

I hate to repeat what someone has already called you out on RAVE_NOMAD, but TO is not going to be traded for a 2nd or 3rd rounder....so stop bogarting it and pass it along.
I think you might want to shake your MAGIC 8-ball (aka known as your reliable inside source) and ask it about TO again. While you are at it, check on the outcome of Jamal's upcoming trial and Musa's "increased work-load" for the next season.

First off TO DOESNT Want to be in San FRan anymore!!!! Second ..nobody is going to give them anything higher then a 2nd round pick....Watch espn sometimes and you will see..they reported that the 49ers didnt want anything but a 2nd or 3rd round choice.....as for drugs i never touch the stuff and just because you wish you had some good sources doesnt mean you have to accuse me of lying....second of all Musa Smith will have an increased work load this year ..he will be Jamal Lewis backup! He will get about 300 to 500 yards but much more involved this year.....watch and see doubters watch and see!!

The mix-up doesn't necessarily mean Owens will play for the Niners next season. The team had expected to lose him in free agency for practically nothing, so San Francisco might use Owens' contract status to work out a trade.
Owens is due to make $17.7 million in base salary over the next three seasons, including $5.3 million next year -- a relative bargain for one of the NFL's best receivers.
He had been counting on a big payday in his first venture onto the free-agent market, hoping to land a signing bonus of more than $15 million from Baltimore or a handful of other teams with the cap space to sign a star receiver.
And people thought i was crazy when i said Baltimore could get him for a 2nd or 3rd round draft choice....there is your proof..yet i had this information way before anyone else!!!!lol...no magic 8 ball needed!!!!

aint nothing wrong w/ my blazers little boy. weve been winners for MANY yrs. somebody will be knocked outta playoffs. ha.
give up on the ravens. it does look like they may get Sapp, as my bucs have signed yet another DT but dont expect the ravens to be in SB. their QB is avg. at best. 9ers would be NUTS to give up T.O. for a 2nd rounder..as those goofs on espn reported. i couldnt believe they said that..unless they meant a lot of money along w/ that offer

If we had a first round pick this year then maybe we would give that up for Owens, but since we don't, I doubt we will give up our second round pick for an aging WR. That's not to deny Owens skills or on field ability, but I seriously doubt we give up our second round pick for him. And to be honest while I would love to have Owens, I think I'd rather go a cheaper route and get Darell Jackson and Justin McCariens. We could probably get both of them for what TO will be asking. They are younger and in Jackson's case he had numbers very similar to TO's this past year. That way we wouldn't have to spend a pick on a WR in the draft, instead we could shore up in some other areas. But I'm pretty sure we will get 1 FA WR and then draft 1. We'll get 1 FA Dlineman and Draft one. And if I'm a betting man that FA Dlineman will most likely not be Sapp if the other guys check out OK. If Walker and Griffin check out, We will not be getting Sapp.

are you slow or something? Do you really think TO's agent would miss that free agent deadline? He would lose so much $$$ if TO fires him. TO must've had a reason. TO will stay in SF is Garcia leaves which is likely because of the salary cap. So just STFU. Ravens aint getting him ****in' idiot.

who is going to be able to give TO the ball? Anthony Wright LMFAO! I heard a rumor that Ed Hartwell & 2nd or 3rd Rounder for TO.

February 28th, 2004, 12:40 PM
If they were going to trade Ed hartwell it would be him and a 3rd rounder...which is still a steal ..they would resign adalias thomas and he would start MLB with Ray Lewis and Terrel Suggs would move to olb and start instead of just playing on passing downs since he had 14 sacks as a rookie and didnt even play every down... Kyle Boller would be throwing to Terrel Owens...he has alot of talant and a strong arm and a quick release.....Anthony wright wont be back next year ...

IMO the Ravens would be dumb to succomb to the demands of the 49ers. I'd tell them Hartwell for Owens straight up. They are the ones who want to get rid of Owens. Not only that, there really isn't that big of a market out there for Owens from what I can see. In Philly they want McCariens. The Ravens should just sit back and relax and see what other teams will offer for Hartwell who is an established Linebacker. I'm sure there are alot of teams that need a MLB. I wouldn't rush into the TO deal at all. Snagging Sapp doesn't seem to make much sense unless the Ravens are moving back to the 43 as their base defense.

Niners are dumb if they trade TO for Hartwell straight up. TO is much more of an asset to either team.

While that might be true, the 49ers and TO are the ones who hate each other. A good business man or woman would not let a situation that is already dissolving dictate their actions. If I'm the Ravens I sit back, make my offer and let the situation dissolve. Unless the 49ers want to keep their cancer and unless TO wants to stay with his cancer then go right ahead.

Browns AFC North Champs 2004. Thanks Jamal!

LMAO ..Browns are cursed never to win a Championship ..let alone a AFC north Championship...lol....These are the Same Browns that gave up 295 yards in a single game to Jamal last year ...and as far as thanking Jamal ..what exactly are you thanking him for? I hope it's not for missing next season...because Jamal will be on the team and playing...he has a rushing title to defend after all....and at that time he will be looking forward to moving on after the unfounded charges against him are dropped...as for The Ravens WR need's I think a straight up deal with Hartwell is a good idea...Hartwell is a young and up and coming MLB and he was tought by the best .....But the Ravens dont really need him....with Terrel Suggs being such a surprise last year....and Hartwell is a restricted Free agent anyway....so i would guess the Ravens can kill two birds with one stone....not have to worry about resigning Hartwell and focus on Getting a top WR.....Sapp im 99.9 % sure isnt staying in Tampa Bay ...and in my other posts from what i gather the Ravens wouldnt change there 3-4 Defence they would just make Sapp adjust to it ...which shouldnt be hard.......

The Browns D was up and down last year but overall were solid. Yes the Baltimore games(both) and the San Diego game was bad. But they play solid for the most part. The D has a lot of young guys who will be good players. I like the browns shot next year if they can improve the oline

February 29th, 2004, 08:37 AM
The browns need to clear up their QB situation...and need to figure out who is there running back...and they lost Kevin johnson and Dennis Northcut wants out as well.....Kelly Holcomb has had surgery that might keep him out an extended period of time....and tim Couch is a free agent...so they have some issues .......they may be an outside shot at a wild card but i dont see them overtaking the Ravens...who will bring back pretty much the same team that womped them 33-13 and 31-0 last year ..plus the Ravens will add Terrel Owens and maybe Warren Sapp!! Good luck next year though..

Couch is the QB. I am confident that he will restructure. Hes not an Free Agent BTW, hes just restructuring. Also, Holcomb is expected back by training camp but it doesnt matter. I'll admit that I was on the Holcomb band wagon big time last year. But he choked, hes not durable enough to start 16 games and he cant pass at ALL against a cover 2 defense.
I think that Suggs will have a slight edge over Green in training camp for the RB situation... but from what I heard we could run a split back set.
It doesnt matter if 'Cutt wants out or not hes with us through 2006. Im hoping we can give him a long term deal though, I really like this guy.
Also about the Ravens, yes they are bringing back basically the same team but its also basically the same team that went 7-9 two years ago.

That just shows what a year can do........Thats what being the YOUNGEST team in the NFL will get you....they do however have some slight changes such as Terrel Suggs who had 14 sacks with them as a rookie last year as well as a Healthy Kyle Boller and lets not forget everything so far points to them having Terrell Owens on board and maybe Warren sapp as well....same O-line that tore open the Browns last 2 seasons...and alot of the NFL is mental...so the Browns gotta be shaken a bit by the Fact that Jamal Lewis said he was going to break the record and did it....the Browns were powerless to stop him......that can do alot of mental damage to any team......just ask the jets after Dan Marino's fake spike throw to the endzone for a TD ...after that the Jets were just out of the season mentally...it takes a toll....just keep that in mind..peace!!

The Ravens just might get Sapp. They probably see a 3 year window for winning it all. But I don't know if they will make a move on Sapp swiftly. I think they should compare what Sapp wants with what Marcellus Wiley wants. Wiley has experience in the 34 which is why I favor him over Sapp. And please man, for the very last time, Adalius Thomas is NOT going to play ILB for the Ravens. Matter of fact if they sign Sapp or Wiley I don't even think AD will be back here.

3 things i heard about sapp...
1. He doesn't want to move his family
2. he's never played outside of florida (except away games)
3. Florida does not have an income tax
Plus, the Bucs want to work something out.. but then again who knows....
