I bought my NHL 2k6 yesterday. I got home and opened it, and the case was broken inside so the disk doesn't stay in place. so i sent an email to customer service, to which they replied:

****o,

Unfortunately, we do not have replacement cases for Xbox 360 games. We can offer you an Xbox case, which is not the same color as the Xbox 360 case.

Thanks for contacting 2K Sports

Customer Service

oh sure, they make millions of games for which they have no cases laying around. I haven't even played my game yet and I'n already p***ed. They are just the same profit mongers that EA are. Everyday their actions seem to further confirm it. at least they make better games, but they don't give a s*** about their customers.

So let me get this straight. You buy a game, the case is slightly defective. You e-mail customer service, which replies to you, which most companies' simply ignore you. They state they don't have any extras, but are willing to go the extra mile and get you a regular X-Box game case instead, which they happen to have. And yet, you whine like an idiot.

Here are your problems ;

1. Customer service replied to you. You should be thankful.
2. They propose to send you a replacement. You're still unhappy.
3. The case won't be of the same color and *that* is why you whine like a baby? Please tell me I got this wrong.
4. And because the color won't match, the company is an evil company bent on world domination?
5. On top of everything, you're already mad. The game isn't necessarily bad. You're just mad about the color of a case!
6. You log onto this forum and whine about a stupid case as opposed to playing the game.

Get a life, you moron!

Ok let's make one thing clear... I have no interest in flaming people on these boards, so I'm not here to trash anyone. But for the most part, I really have to agree with StratSlinger when he said that you should be thankful for even getting a reply. Seriously, they were willing to send you a case, which is far more than I would expect from most companies. And seriously, I doubt 2K is trying to save money by dealing replacement Xbox cases as opposed to 360 cases. I mean really, how much could they possibly save? They probably don't have replacement 360 cases at the moment... which may change in the future. If anything I am impressed that they are willing to send you a reply, nevermind actually give you a new case.

Keep up the good work 2K.

The only way I will feel cheated is if the 360 is as full of bugs due to the fact that; 1) They have had a few months to have read the boards not to mention the amounts of emails that they must have gotten. And 2) We aint paying no 20 or 30 dollars. As far as replacing cases / faulty discs go back to the point of purchse. My local EB has spare copies in store and they are very good about that sort of thing.

I agree here. My local gamestores I go to (EB and Gamestop) are very good about this. Heck, sometimes I will open up the game right there in front of the store clerk just to make sure everything is like it should be.

Now if the OP went to somewhere like Wal-Mart or Target, then that is a different story.

no. I offered cash for a proper case if need be (which shouldn't be needed) and they claim to not have any.

as for replying to me, if you think the fact that someone even just replied to a concern is amazing, you are one seriously jaded individual.

In my eyes, it is a very plausible arguement to say that they do not have 360 replacement cases (as of now). You should patiently lay back instead of getting so angry.

Yes, the fact they replied is amazing. You're probably too young or just a customer service virgin for you to say something like this. I would dare say 95% of companies will ignore you. In fact, most of the companies I have worked for only had such an e-mail address as a decoy. They'd empty it periodically without ever reading any comments whether positive or negative.

And though I may have sounded harsh in my first msg to you, I stand by what I said. If you're the kind of guy who gets all worked up on the color of a case, I'm happy to say that I don't know you personally as I can't imagine you being faced with one of life's *real* hardships without you commiting suicide when presented with an actual challenge or adversity.

Oh we have ourselves another one of those "I'm so above you even though I'm spending my time ripping you in a video game forum" guys.

you're right, I'm so out of line to expect what I pay for.

You're also right that I'd just jump off a bridge if my car payment was due, or my kid was sick, or I lost a job.

your life or throwing away customer service emails has obviously placed you above me. Your wisdom is infinite. I bow before your mighty name.

Nope. I'm not above you because I rip on you. I'm above you, because I don't care about the color of a stupid case. What idiot is so out of touch with reality and so @nal as to complain about something so idiotic? Oh, right ; you.

Please take the time to actually *read* what I post. I never said that I threw away e-mails, but that the companies I worked for had a "we don't read your e-mails" approach. Major difference. Your pathetic attempts at sarcasm would probably have a bit more impact if you had the least bit of understanding of the English language.

Nevertheless, I don't expect somebody like you to understand how ridiculously moronic a rant your first post is. There are natural disasters, world hunger, people getting their loved ones murdered, people losing their jobs due to globalization, etc... the list goes on. And you're worried about the color of a stupid case?? Do you know how stupid you really are? Is your life so empty that this is your biggest worry? Do you have the mental capacity for understanding how little you look to me?

you are complaining about me complaining. Where does that rank in the list of things that are idiotic to complain about?

I scored a 36 on the English portion of the ACT. (that's out of 36 in case you didn't know)

dude, you are still complaining about MY broken case situation. Maybe you should go volunteer at the homeless shelter, solve those murders you talk about, or get those people some new jobs. That stuff is so important that you couldn't possibly have time to keep yammering on about my broken video game case could you? Or maybe your postings here are helping these vital problems you speak of.

I'm not complaining. It's called venting. Look it up. Heck, I'll even be so nice as to point you towards a URL for you to figure out what its definition is ; www.dictionary.com

It's a good thing you keep being so evasive when it comes to explaining the so-called logic of being so @nal-retentive regarding the color of a case, but attempting to use the childish "I know what *you* are, but what am I?" argument is pathetic, at best.

Don't be surprised that people tell you you're being unreasonable when you come off as some sort of spoiled brat, acting like a five-year old having a tantrum because your potential case replacement would be of a different color! Boo-hoo-hoo...

This is kinda off topic I tried to email the EA support address to plead on behalf of all sim hockey gamers to please refrain from attempting to hog the NHL license rights and to let them know that their piece of garbage was unacceptable and not to wreck it for everybody. The email was returned with an automated message that this address no longer accepts emails with a link to message boards to read through to find a solution to my problem! I cant even tell them how horrible their game is !!!
