Okay, I don't know if NHL developers are clueless sometimes or what, but for the life of me, I never understood why they overlook including a PLAYABLE broadcast camera that resembles the angles we see on TV.

In this era of HD - It's about time that hockey game developers focused on bringing home the REAL TV feel of watching an NHL telecast.

I'd love to see a center-mounted camera that pivots side to side (just like we see on TV), and even include the occasional switch to a behind the net camera when deep in the zone or battling in the corners.

The current 'side' camera is not sufficient, so I hope that 2K games finally programs these PLAYABLE cameras for our use, instead of showing off some cool angles in demo only.

Also, we need to dismiss this myth that the ONLY way to play a hockey game is from the 3/4 or Overhead perspective, with the camera pulled way back... This is bull!

Fifa, Winning Eleven, NBA, and other games have this true 'broadcast' camera (I like Winning Eleven's the best because there's an option for camera shifts as the play moves along - just like on TV). It's time that hockey fans got this same presentation.

Make it happen 2K games... It will better 'show off' all the artistic work you've done to the players, arenas, fans, etc. What's the point of having HD quality graphics, when we can't directly compare it to real HD telecasts because we're forced to use "Old Generation" camera angles?

Looking forward to seeing true-to-life NHL telecasts in NHL 2K7... and for heaven's sake, "HIGH SIDE" or "SIDE" camera are highly unrealistic and will never come close to recreating the TV presentation.

Heck, rent a copy of NHL Rivals for xbox - THEY GO THE BROADCAST CAMERA RIGHT!!!
You can even adjust your height and zoom too - what a novel idea !?!

too hard to shoot and hard to see puck along close boards

unless they made a camera that was stuck on a pivot at center ice and only turned and zoomed instead of following the puck

Nonsense.

Watch the demo mode, they DO use a broadcast camera most of the time (centre-mounted, pivoting side-to-side)... disregard those ultra-close-up cams that really don't show much. The demo mode shows the camera that I'm talking about.

You can easily follow the puck, and they can incorporate a small indicator arrow if the puck is somwhere on the close boards.

But as I've stated, when deep in the zone, the camera could switch to a behind the net cam (similar to the Rink Action cam)...

In other words, 'bring the game to life' in a TV-style that we can all identify with...

It's kind of idiotic to spend countless months making the game pretty, when the camera options they give us to enjoy and experience these visuals are subpar at best.

Once you play a good broadacast camera, all you 3/4 angle players will be converted forever!

Cosmicoz, i COMPLETELY agree with you.

It's a shame that Kush have included a "demo mode" side broadcast cam to show off their game, but havn't allowed us to use it as a selectable camera option - the reason being is probably because they haven't tested it properly or given enough time to created a camera mode that allows TV style side-view play.

I think the "High Side" cam is ok, but i rarely use it as it's still not the kind of camera we're talking about.

I'd say for a broadcast TV cam they should include user customisable options, like the zoom, the height, the angle of the tilt, whether the camera switches for close up play in certain areas of the rink (eg, like behind the net play, or board play, or even just in the neutral zone or in the crease).

A FULLY customisable broadcast camera that had a lot of love and attention given to it's development are a MUST for 2k7.

Game devs need to realise that there's a section of the hockey game comunity that are so deperate for a kind of hockey experience that resembles TV, and does not look tabletop that they buy each edition every year in the HOPE that they'll get it - sadly, not yet. :(

I totally agree freelancer. I think you may see the broadcast cam in the next game. I think part of the reason it was not put in this time was two fold. #1) the game was rushed ...this is something that everyone knows. #2) besides the fact that there are a lot of glitches and defects in this game because it was rushed....graphically the game did not receive much of an upgrade....the ice is really the only drastically noticeable improvement...The player models really are not that spectacular...................I am holding out hope that we will get a quality hockey game this fall.....one that truly starts to take advantage of the capabilities of the 360. One that offers us a true broadcast experience.......I want a hockey game that is as much fun to watch as it is to play!
