The graphics were pretty maxed out for current gen, but there are things that increase the overall look. Based on the pictures, I can tell you right now that the hockey models Kush used in MLB2K5, will not be there. The player models in the pictures look much better, and those "huge Kush lips" have seemed to diappear.
Also, because NHL2K6 felt like a minor upgrade from 2K5, I'm pretty certain that Kush has spent more time for 2K6. I would expect much improved animation. I expect that this new movement system is something similar to the one used in NFL2K5 and NBA2K6. No longer will you be able to run in circles like a moron.
I would expect that Kush has spent the majority of their programming on fielding controls since that is the weakest part of the game.
There will be new commentary and presentation of course. I'm assuming that the "Flashback Replays" will be a replay that is displayed later in the game from a previous inning.
Those are my takes.

all i ask for is David Wright be faster than Mike Piazza in this years version. He only stole like almost 20 bases last year!

I'm "expecting" the same gameplay as World Series 2K3, since that's what we've had for three years running.

if reyes speed is not 99 than you know they mess up on the ratings lol.

I'm expecting nothing like 2K3 since it's a different developer, one that actually tries. Though 2K3 wasn't a bad game, this game will be nothing like it.

honestly, i wish they can upgrade the ratings of players while the season goes on.
3-4 way team trade with money as incentive with REAL CONTRACTS.
Better swing animation
No more rob home runs and not every OF can run fast enough to reach it.
Better camera views (pitching, etc)
No more turbo running
real base running mechanics. (If Reyes hit a grounder to the SS who is playing normal or back, there is no way he should be out. Only Jose Reyes can steal 2nd & 3rd uncontested)
No more pass balls unless the user is throwing junk at every at bat. (New pic probably resolves that with the catcher blocking it). HAHA SUCKERS
Hitter is not limited to hitting only in the strike zone, they can reach for the ball with something called a bat.
No strike zone. Let the user figure it out by himself because no umpire calls the strikezone the same....they have tendacies.
WATCH AN ACTUALLY FREAKING BASEBALL GAME YOU FREAKIN CANADIANS.

Expecting:
A game free of bugs
A way to get pitchers to throw more pitches
Better minor league system (would like full rosters for A,AA,AAA and have them sim through their season so they will be gaining stats as I play out the MLB season)
New animations
Would like to see:
Better fan reaction/atmosphere
Day to Night progression
A recap/highlite show of all the days games (kinda like NFL2k5 had)
Give players character. Let them get angry over limited playing time, file for free agency, lift trade clauses.
A good SIM type baseball game not Arcadey. I could do without everything except Franchise mode.

like to see what the flashback replay will be like and commentators actually remember that play and talk about it.
A, AA, AAA full roster and full season payables games
accurate MLB pictures and faces
longer celeberations for world series
have celeberations for broken recordeds after the game

Ps2 can't have the same xbox graphics because the xbox is more powerful, that is why the xbox had better graphics.

Improved:
Batting animation and quicker bat speed.
Throwing animations.
Fielding when 3rd baseman is making a play on a slow roller.
More dramatic camera angles for Home-Runs.
Create-player mode.
Crack of the bat.
More choices for classic uniforms.
More classic stadiums. ( to use in Franchise, Season modes )
More legendary players.
Total edit anytime during season.
One button to push so everyone in both leagues has "Stirrup Sox" its time consuming to have to change everyones sox individually, besides it's pretty smelly!
Announced seasonal Home-Runs.
Large announced names data- base.
