Hey Everyone, Im guessing we wont be getting any info back. I emailed this last week, and as I guessed..no response..
Hi there to whoever this may end up going to.
I am just writing this as a concerned/upset fan of the NHL 2K series.
Firstly, let me say, I love your games. From NFL on the Dreamcast to NHL 2K6 on the new 360. I love everything about them...well up till now. They are definitely my mainstay when it comes to playing games at home but I want to write this letter and voice what a lot of people are saying on various websites/forums in regards to the new NHL 2K6 for 360. I know nothing will come of this most likely and no one will probably even read it but I thought it couldn't hurt to try.
Being from Canada and hockey being in our blood, I recently purchased NHL 2K6 (the day it came out to be exact) for the original Xbox and I truly think it is an amazing game. I also have 2K5, 2K4 and 2K3 on my shelf. From the awesome detail to the amazing game play, you blow EA out of the water and have, since day one and at a price of 29.99 CAD it is an amazing deal and worth every penny and more. With the release of the Xbox 360 last week I could hardly wait to get my hands on a copy of NHL 2K6 for the next generation of machines. I got it home, put it in and off I went. Now I admit, the game plays better, runs smoother, and all that, but what happened between the 2 versions? Where are the correct jersey styles (Oilers are only one example-3rd jerseys - wrong number style on the 360, correct on the Xbox) also jersey lettering way too small. And the faces, what have you done with the faces? Hockey players are not as fat as EVERYONE in this game. And then to throw a 69.99 price tag on it. That is totally not right. I have supported your games since 2000. And preached to everyone I know that they are the best looking, and best playing sports sims on the market. Then to get snubbed by a version that either wasn't finished or really wasn't cared about enough to make it perfect in time for release it really makes on think.
Now I know game development and opinions are all personal preference, but I am not the only one with these thoughts, check out every review for the game on the 360. check out some of your own forums. We hockey fans are not happy campers right now.
I don't know if its planned or even possible, but would an update be able to fix any of this or do we just suck it up and accept the fact that you stole our extra 40 bucks for a game that really doesn't deserve the extra price jump. Or do we pray that Microsoft makes 2k6 for the original Xbox work on the 360? You will still get our money that we have already thrown out for both versions but maybe it will make us as consumers a little more open to other versions next year?
I mean not being able to choose Hall of Famer on a ranked game....come on. Why would that even be taken out between the 2 releases...
Sorry for the rant, and this will probably go to your delete bin faster then you read it but hey, I thought id try.
Thank you for your time.
I have received no answer to this...it seems like a lot of the game companies are friggin with us. Only thing is how can a game be better on the xbox, then the 360. Its the same game...if it aint broke...dont fix it....they screwed up big.
