Thanks for the link. I'm very happy to hear about the pressure sensitive throws when fielding. That was a much needed enhancement. I'm also very interested to see just how the new animations look and how much better the 360 version will be. Thanks again for the link to the info!

Thanks for the link man. I know it all sounds cool, but remember, of course the guy is going to say that everything is awesome and new and improved. I would not expect a HUGE change in franchise mode and such. He just talked it up a lot. Don't get me wrong, I am excited, but don't think its going to be the best game ever because you will be disappointed.

Hmm. The question is, did 2K bring up the swing stick very recently to mock NCAA MVP Baseball 06, or was this on the drawing board since the shot stick was invented. Personally I think that this was a long term idea and EA snagged it. Nonetheless, i hardly will worry about who "copied" who because this is another great innovation, and is changing the normal system of batting.
The dude did seem to "fluff" up the game a little bit, but I'm hoping it ehances it's gameplay to most of all being: fun. I think that's wat gave MVP the edge last year. 2K5's gameplay was decent and playable, but EA's was fun.
I'm glad to see the VIP was ported over and the "revolutionary new stats integration model" sounds interesting.
Now I'm just awaiting some next-gen screens...

Still a lil early to tell. Honestly I wanna see some of the next-gen stuff cuz I know it will be pretty nice. I'm also stoked on the fact that they listened and actually payed attention to those horrid animations.

Hopefully this means ALL NEW animations, so no old ones will be in the game. Cause I don't remember one good animation in 2k5 .So hopefully no more rotating 360 degrees when they hit the ball. Hopefully. Now all the need to do is fix the terrible gloves. Wow they look bad.

Hey thanks for the link.
I try not to get too much excited about the next baseball video games. Every year it's the same **** thing. But i just can't :P
Chien Yu said they have an all new movement system, with brand new animations.
One thing i did not understand was that the catcher will call the game...
Will the catcher be controlled by the CPU? Than the CPU asks you for a pitch and you being the pitcher can refuse or accept? Anyone knows?
I hope they put this as an option so if you don't like it you could turn it off and play just like you ever played. But it sounded cool.
The pressure sensitive thing is also a cool new addition. The snap throws...
Ok, trying not to get hyped...

Good Looking out JMC.
The fact the he mentioned "atmosphere" tells me that the staff is DEFINATELY concerned about the "nuances" of the game. Yes it's early, but this baby will not miss. "Snap-throws".............I knew there was a reason I kept the old "3DO" product nearby (wink).
Continue doing your homework, Spring can't get here fast enough!

I'm looking forward to screenshots/movies of this game for the xbox360 also...my purchase of the system is riding on this game (and more b.compatible xbox games..like nfl2k5)
I really don't want to wait to see what MLB 200x has to offer on the PS3..too long of a wait to play some good baseball.

So, there WILL be XBOX 360 version
IGN Sports: How does the Swing Stick work?
Chien Yu: The Swing Stick batting mechanic is a new control feature that was inspired by NBA 2K6's Shot Stick mechanic. There was such great feedback from our fans of the Shot Stick and our team believed we could use a similar concept for batting. The basic mechanic is pretty simple but just like the Shot Stick, it feels really natural - simply pull back on the stick and release to make contact as a pitch approaches the plate. There are also some more advanced techniques of the Swing Stick that will give fans of our game an incredible fun and challenging experience.
I think I'm familiar with this one, I love this feature when I was playing All Star Baseball 2005

I am an exclusive PC user, and have been a solid MVP baseball buyer.
I've heard that you are not making a PC version. Is this true.
I am NOT buyign a 360. I also know that there are hundreds of thousands of PC users out there. Are you going to abandon them? That's bad for business, don't your think.

At least they added PSP and Gamecube this year. Maybe they'll add PC next year. Or possibly later in the season.

I think GUGA had a great idea, and I hope it is the case.
If you were to have to work with the catcher who calls the pitches(CPU), and you as the pitcher having to either agree with him, or disagree, and eventually even tying in a raport system or something. That's a great point/ idea, and something to look forward to.
Last years game presentation was excellent, a lot more immersive than EA's offering. I hope that with the addition of more fluent fielding, this game should be excellent. Just as long as the technical glitches are gone, things are sounding great.
I love stats, one of the biggest reasons I love MLB games, and if they plan to have more pop-ups, and the announcers reference stats more, is great. I would just love to hear how well I do off of left handers as I am approaching the plate, or even, I can dream, of them tracking how I do against specific pitchers as well.
Sorry, I tend to get a little carried away...also trying to not get hyped.
The link was great, thanks for providing it.

Developers why not a PC-CD version of the game. You are you are keeping us PC people out of the game.
I have no intention of buying XBOX or PS2 in-order to play the game.
In some way, we PC people must get together and pressure Major League Baseball to allow EA Sports to make a PC version of the game since Take Two refuse to do so.

Hey guy I really hate to tell you this but 2K doesn't make a PC game and I doubt they ever did......that said this won't effect them in any imaginable way. They should look into it but I really doubt it guy.

All I am saying is that they better return the in-game save feature to this game. I don't always have a full hour to kill trying to finish a game. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SAVE THE GAME MIDWAY THROUGH!!! They used to have this in one of the earlier version and then they inexplicably dropped it ... Colossal blunder in my opinion.

i agree 100% with you. i loved the fact that i could save the game at any point during the game. they really need this option in all sports games.
as for next gen graphics on the 360, i can tell you this game won't be much better then the xbox/ps2 versions. it will be just like Madden/Live/NBA2K6/NHL2K6/CollegeHoops2K6 and any other 1 gen sports games released on the 360.
there's no need for developers to make 2 different versions of their sports games right now and we probably won't see a change until the next version of Madden. that will be the starting point. until then it's just going to be a port version for baseball. sucks big time but MLB2K7 will be great!!

Why 2k6 did not make the game for us PC guys

Alright lets get this straight Mlb 2k6 looks like a really good game. However I believe throwing the ball has to be fixed. You got to have a realistic throw with quicker release and long accurate motion throw. The wind up of the throw has to be fixed it was too slow to last year. The player needs to get a good grip as the ball lands in the glove to get a nice release point moving the arm forward smoothly. Need more diving animations. Question will showboat still be available? Liked it but needs more realistic touch. Every touch is like a automatic catch not good for the game. I like to see a player bobble the ball in the glove as he is hurrying the throw. Ok comment on this question for me... i'll come up with the next question shortly

I hear about alot about this "port" talk, I don't quite know what it is, can someone enlighten me on what it is, and why people seem to be totally against it?
And, MLB2K7 would be great, but it will probaly only be available on PS3/XBOX 360. if it was also available on PS2, then, that would be superb(heh.)

A port is a game that is already designed, usually created for another system, and then transferred to another.
It's pretty much what EA does with all their games when it's brought to Xbox. It takes no advantage of the higher power of the game system, and is a carbon copy of a game already released on a system.
