nice reply, it is stupid in so many ways I can't een begin to pick it apart...
Socom has as much going on, and 16 people in seperate locations all playing at once. Don't blame us PS2 users for expecting Sega to put out a quality product.
A smooth online game of hockey is possible on the PS2. It's too bad Sega/Kush rushed this product, did a poor job testing it, and is dragging their feet on fixing the issue.
Xbox people, who cares that it runs good on your system? Good for you. We PS2 users are really impressed. We are all going to sell our systems now.

You really should :) j/k .... I have both systems and decided that PS2 was better served as a dust collector.

When a game is getting 9.3/10, 9.0/10 reviews, and then you play it and its this, it makes me think that maybe people are biased towards sega. And I also think some companies bribe websites/magazines maybe not directly with $$ but advertising money.

I am not sure I understand the debate. I play this game just fine on PS2. The lag is not the result of platform but of connection speed. I know mine is networked into my broadband connection. Perhaps the problem is the ISP's and not the game itself.

If you check the other forums you'll see that it's more than just a problem with certain ISPs. It's everywhere on Sega's servers.

Companies bribing magazines and websites? Seriously, this game has been worth what I paid for it. Sorry to the rest of you that can't seem to make it rotate around your lives like you want it...

LOL I can't get a decent camera angle where I see my guys on the ice. How can anyone legitamately play this game with these camera angles. I mean you can never see youre defensemen or the winger on the other side of the ice. 1/2 of the passes up ice are blind, you just guys and pass.
It's like playing a football game and only being able to see 5 yards downfield and having to guess who to pass to. I mean for me, this is a SERIOUS problem. Totally unacceptable.
And then there's all the little game freezes, bugs, commentary issues. The clipping issues and pucks going through players/puck getting "sucked" into goalies. Graphics are allright but some of the animations look odd. And then there's the sub par (or bogey) online play. Add a few annoying AI issues.
You still got a great game, but no where near what some people are making it out to seem like.

I don't understand the big deal about not being able to see more of the ice. If you play real hockey, you know that you can't see the whole rink as you're skating up ice. You have to anticipate where your linemates are going to be a lot of the time and pass (somewhat) blindly. If everyone plays their position, that eliminates a lot of guesswork.
In this game, you can pretty much depend on your team to be where they're supposed to be, unless you control a player and pull him out of position.

If I wanted the limitations of real hockey, I wouild have expect some sort of "first person" hockey to be implemented in the game. But considering how unplayable that is in ESPN NFL, I really don't care much for that. And while were on the subject, why not make anything behind the player blacked out so he can't see behind him, since no one has eyes behind their head.
Give me a break.
When you're one timing to your center, you can obviously see him. When you're passing up ice from the defensive zone, you can see the player. WHen you're passing to your defensemen, you can see where they are on the ice and judge whether or not to make the pass. Or how about when you get a turnover in your defensive zone and an opposing winger comes flying in at an angle at which the camera angle doesn't allow you to see him, but in reality he's right in front of your face.
