Gary Walker re-signed with the Texans ,
Which means the Ravens now turn there total focus to Signing Warren Sapp to help bolster there D-line...The Ravens will keep with the 3-4 Defence and Sapp will have make some adjustments but it shouldnt be to hard ....it might take the preseason to get set ...The Ravens at first wanted Walker because he is younger and would fit more naturally in with the 3-4 ..but with him out of the picture the Ravens like Warren Sapp and think he has at least 4 more good seasons in him....They like his playoff expierence and could use it, With the ravens showing alot of lag down in last years Playoff Loss to the Titans....

even so..the bucs "d" on sb 37 was the BEST EVER. change your signature cuz its WRONG. we dont need much offense..we got wayyyy more talent than most tms. wayyyy more talent than baltimore too.

NEAR the top ISNT good enough. go and look at the stats for our sb 37 run. we WERE the TOP of many categories. that ravens d of 2000 was good, but NOT as good as ours. ravens d of last yr was nothing close to the 2000 run..dont mention that.(lol) its the truth...get over it

You make me laugh almost as much as Stenchmen....First off..how many points did the Bucs D give up in there SB year?? And then look in the record books to see what team gave up the fewest points EVER in a 16 week season...the Ravens had 5 shutouts and gave up fewest yards in a season and oh by the way there D gave up 0 points!!!!! the Giants only score was a kickoff return...which the Ravens matched right after that....check your history books and then check your self!!!!! and in fact the ravens won quite a few records in there SB win...most TO caused i believe among some others......

1 category...ohhhh, give them a piece of cake. we avg. opponents w/ like 13 pts all season during our SB run. ask marshall faulk, even he said bucs d was the best. he didnt play that raven d but he RESPECTED us enough to say we were better. dont hate us. we were better. period. u need to nomad onto an entirely different post now

check your record books some more....The Ravens gave up the fewest points in a season!!!!!!! 5 shutouts, fewest yards allowed...Bucs cant compare....the Bucs followed up there SB with a 7-9 record..with basicly the same D..........thats aweful...and if you think the Bucs deserve to be in the ranks with the Ravens 2001 D or the Bears 85 D...you need to take a few less hits of that stuff!!

haha, how lame to talk about last yrs defence when we lost dex and singleton and big play b.k. was on IR and and quarles was hurt several gms. we'll defend our championship this coming yr. i think last yr was the first time the ravens were back in playoffs since their SB..dont go there

to make a quit comment on the Bucs season...they struggled with injuries on the offense, which lead to much of their problems. Losing JJ early in the season really hurt them, bc he is a big play guy. Then, they lose Alsott which also hurt them. I believer--could be wrong--but Lynch was out a couple of games and they had to move their safety to corner bc of injuries. The bucs problems last year were due mainly to injury.
I think it is impossible to judge which defense is the best. I mean there were some great d's. The Curtian, the 85 bears, the 2000 Ravens, and the 2002 Bucs. In my mind you could make a statement for everyone of them...i actually think the 99 Bucs defense was better than the 2003 version. All-in-all i would take that 85 bears defense over them all, but like i said before you could argue that all day and not get anywhere.

i agree,
But if you look at teams that did better after winning the SB the Ravens went to the playoffs with a washed up Terry Allen..because Jamal Lewis blew out his knee and the Ravens still made the playoffs and won a game.....injuries are a part of the game my friend.....In any game i would rather have the Ravens 2001 D then any other teams D...just my humble opinion though....

Why would you??
Both good defenses yes...but when you think of top 3 D's of all time ..most people in no order think 85 Bears,2001 Ravens,Steel curtain
Bucs dont enter in at all.....The Ravens wrote and broke all kinds of Defensive records and they didnt allow a point in the superBowl and had 4 ints in the SB ....they have the record for fewest points allowed Ever in a 16 week season, fewest yards allowed, they had 5 shutouts, didnt allow a 100 yard rusher in 38 games straight...thats a record! and the list goes on....all great D's but i think its clear the Ravens D Has the edge ..in my opinion....but opinions are like butts everyone has one...or 2 or 3 so this fight will keep going and going....

just STFU dude. you WONT EVER change my opinion. the ravens dont enter as one of the best d's in my book. u are talking about 5 games..im talking bucs for the WHOLE SEASON dominated inlike 10 different categories. so what..they played the friggin sorry ol giants in the SB. here is the real order..85 bears, 02 bucs(that 99 bucs was nice d also), steel curtain. accept it and stop arguing

Speaking as someone who saw those teams play, sorry my friend but the Steel Curtain was better than Tampa. I give Tampa credit for the following, however...they played better offenses than the Ravens.
