Amazing franchise, definately superior to EA but here are some suggestions to make it even better...
1) A lot of people have shown some interest in improving cutscenes such as, (a) A banner being risen if your win the Stanley Cup, Division, etc. (b) A retired number feature for players after retirment (also if you are the Montreal Canadiens a player should not be allowed to use the #9, #1 etc) (c) another addition to cutscenes would be a player who breaks a milestone or career milestone (ie 500 goals, 50 goals in 50 games, 3rd on the all time goal scoring list)
2) A new feature i would love to see would be that the game keeps track of what PLAYERS have won cups and when. This could be shown on a players profile under their picture or wherever there is room. A player should be effected if they are 35+ and without a cup ring in their profile. The longer their career went without a cup the more they would want to play for a contender. Also if a player has cups wins then it should improve their leadership skills.
3) HIGHSTICK PENALTIES!! Where have these been!!!? I realize it is kind of hard to have highsticking in games because the user has no control of how high their stick is but i think that with the metre that players have where if the red gets full and they are frustrated, then if they use the slashing infraction it can result in a highstick. If the metre is full then a 4minute double minor could be awarded.
4) Goaltender injuries/ slumps. An over used, fatigued goalie, as well as a goalie who has a history of injuries (ie. Cloutier (knee), Belfour (back) etc...) should be prone to injuries. Backups are virtually useless, and some of the best goalies have been backups who have got a start due to an injured starter (Theodore for example)
5) Staying with goalies, I would like to see teams spending their $$ on players and not their backup goalie. I am sick of seeing a team with Brodeur, Luongo, and 2 other backups with 80+ ratings. Teams with a goalie with a rating of 85+ should not have a backup of equal value. What team spends as much for their backup as their franchise starter...?
6) Canadians will agree with me here... PLAYOFF BEARDS!! It would be great to see beards on players who have survived to the Cup finals.
7) In profiles you should be able to see when a player was drafted. (ie. Sidney Crosby 1st selection, 1st round, 2005, Pittsburgh Penguins).
8) When a player is traded twice in a season and has played for lets say... Ottawa, St. Louis, and Edmonton, his stats only say Edmonton. It would be nice to see all the teams hes played for in his profile.
Well thats all i can think of for now. I hope you take time to read over these suggestions. Thank you. Keep up the great work.

2k6 is a great game and all, but I just didn't think it is "next-gen" How about the puck actually touching the blade of the stick. Or maybe a few more goalie animations. Whenever I shoot it high, the only animation the goalie ever does is when it looks like he is going to save it with his chest. I always score in the top corners. I know Turco was the cover boy, but there needs to be some more goalie animations. I know we would probably NEVER see this, and if it did, it would look cheesy. But imagine if they had the sticks flex. But, I would like to see this too. EA has somewhat done this. But, I would like to see some sticks break. Heck, Jagr seems to break his stick every game. In crucial parts of the game.(shootout) In NHL 06, if someone got hit hard they would drop their stick. I liked that. Also, if/when there is a high stick, the referee would check for blood. I don't know about you guys, but I have had some pretty high scoring games. Just recently I won 10-9. How abou t cutting down the scoring.

BTW, for any of you, does the game kind of freeze for like a second right when you are about to score? I'm pretty happy I rented this game. I could have just played 2k6 for my PS2. However, just a little tweak in the graphics. (little, hahaha)
