I have spent my day testing different sinerios for saving your "open table" winnings/loses when on Xbox LIVE. Even after the auto updat this does not work 100%, I hope 2K Sports will continue to work to try and truely FIX this bug.
Anyway, here is what seems to be consistantly true for me anyway.
Steps to keep your online "open table" winnings/losses
1. Plug in controller
2. Insert WPT 2K6 disc (should be in already =])
3. Turn on Xbox
4. Sit down
5. Select Xbox Live from menu
6. Select character
7. Enter table
8. Play
9. Win or lose money
10. Leave table by selecting "Exit to Xbox LIVE main menu"
11. Saving is done automatically
Now, if you attempt to rejoin that table, or join another table you have all ready left one table since your Xbox was turned on so whatever happens at that second table WILL NOT SAVE. Once you leave a table either by your choice, or a time out error ect that is the only save you can have. If you want to join another table and have it save when you leave you must TURN OFF YOUR XBOX and revert to step three (3.) again.
Hope this helps, please report your finding and see if this hold true for you aswell.
Thank you...

But what is the point in doing that. How is that playing good poker? Like Phil Ivy bet all his money and lost and the power went off in the casino and he ended up running away with his money.
That is not true poker. If you really want to do **** like that you are classless or shouldn't be playing poker. Be happy you can start with $1000 when you loose all your money right then. I hope 2KSports will make a thing where you loose all your money it will refill the next day or after a week or something.
If not every dog gone fellow online goes all-in. Funny thing is they go all in just to get $40 - $100 bucks what is the point in doing that putting in $1000 bucks just so others will let you have 40 bucks. Laughable poker skills.

Hey Desi,
You are misunderstanding the problem. If you go back and carefully re-read Sham's topic, I think you will realize that.
I'm assuming you play on PS2 because I've never seen you on Xbox Live and I'm a pretty regular player there. According to what I hear, the PS2 version does not have the same problems.
Unlike the PS2, the xbox version has a number of really bad glitches. The worst one of these is when you win big at a table and the game does not save correctly.
For example, I hit an open table and I leave the game $250,000 up from my original starting cash. I exit out of the game and check my stats that I'm up that $250,000 I just won off that open table (this glitch doesn't seem to affect sit n' go that badly). I exit out of online mode EXPECTING my current amount of money to be saved. I go back online the next night and check my stats. That $250,000 I won the previous night...not frickin there!
That is what the complaining is about. I've had people tell me they have lost $2,000,000 (which I take with a grain of salt) due to the game not saving correctly. That's a pretty big f'n glitch if you ask me and except for the one patch 2k released for it (which did help somewhat), they have not said word about it here since.
Shamrock was NOT talking about trying to cheat the system so he can avoid losing money that he legitimately lost. He wants the money he won legitimately to save like it should.
Because of the Xbox glitches, I'm thinking about picking the PSP version of WPT when it comes out hoping it's more stable like the PS2 version. I've heard the PSP version will allow interplay with PS2 players. If that's the case, I'll be glad to take your money there. :D
Later,
E.G.

Oh sorry for the misunderstanding, I think it could be a connection glitch (opponents).

Im Glad to hear im not the only poor b***ard who cant save his winnings. how can you make a game so difficult to save. I thought i had it sussed at one point by quiting the table, going to main menu and saving my progress there. But after wining a load of WONGA last night i went through the same proscess but to my disapointment my stats did not save.:thumbsdow :( :thumbsdow
I appresciate its only a game but we play to win, and there is a high element of competition between players. Its always nice to win a big pot even if its not real money.......BUT WHATS THE POINT IF YOU CANT KEEP IT.
So come in 2K get it sorted. We all wanna win money.

I have the same issues with my PSP. I lose my winnings. I was up 10,000 then lost most of it the next day even though I saved it! Also, I have a lot of connectivity problems including "attempting to migrate to new host" or "server has timed out." If you 're thinking of buying this game for the PSP...don't! I would rather just play online (computer) and not have all these problems. What is the point?:noagree:

I just purchased this game and I'm having problems saving my earnings also and I'm mad about it because the game is not allowing you to save what you have won along with your chip earning. Even if you loose all of your earnings, the only way to start with $1000.00 is to re-create another character insead of using the same character you had (which had all the changing in the clothing & accessories). If anyone has any tips or information on saving your earnings with the PS2 system, PLEASE let me know. Or even loosing all of your earnings at least saving your character so I don't have to start from scratch. GOOD LUCK! and thanks....

I'm on the Xbox and can't get it to save my winnings.....ever. I just got the game yesterday and was looking forward to online play.
I managed to do rather well and had over 200K in chips, but then when I went to the main menu and went back later I was down to $1000, $9000 less than what I started with!
Today I started with $1000 and managed to get up to around $20K and backed off the table and when I went back later I only had $2,000.
This a major disappointment. If 2k fixes this stoopid glitch I'll gladly start playing online again, but until then I'm done....back to playing Helena Hanbasket and Polly Ester, at least that saves once I'm done.
