Sorry, I kind of forgot. I know Jeter was "it" last year, but I forget if 2k signed him for a multi year thing where he will be the cover boy for this years' game. Well, is he?

Yeah, go to MLB 2K6 main page and you can find it

Jeter is an overrated piece of ****. It disgusts me that he's the cover boy, but I like the game enough that I can get past it.

Every year people put out some good custom covers for the game, i might just use one custom cover.

If you print with a photograph paper and photograph quality you will get some real good results.

Y'know ESPN guys are now considering him as not overrated. His consistantly posting .300+avg, 10hr's and 100 runs.

Maybe if you ask, FA will give (a template for custom covers).

Kind of sad that the cover boy wasn't even in the all star game.

ick...Derek Jeter is one of my least favorite players to ever pick up a bat....right behind Babe Ruth, Alex Rodriguez, and Mike Mussina.

Well, I don't care if Ortiz is on cover of MLB 06:The Show.

who cares if 15 year old girls like the yankees or not. But, I don't care really too much about the cover boy. But, I would like someone else. Once I get the game, I will just put it away with my other game cases. It's not like I'm going to stare at it for hours.

300+ average, 10 HRs, and 100 runs? La dee frickin' da! That's all it takes to make a first ballot Hall of Famer? Oh, I forgot he was instrumental in the Yankees championships. They wouldn't have won them without him. Bull. Put Nomar or Tejada on those teams and they still win the championship.

Let's see...Jeter got paid 18 million dollars in 2005. You're going to tell me .309/.389/.450 with 19 HR, 122 R, and 70 RBI is good enough to justify 18 million? Plus, the only reason he scores runs is because of the guys around him. Sure, his .389 OBP isn't bad, but there
were 12 players who had higher OBP than him and didn't score 100 runs. So the credit for Jeter's runs scored goes quite a bit to the players around him.

Also, let's see how many other players hit .300+, had 10+ HR, and scored 100 runs.

Alex Rodriguez
Hideki Matsui
Todd Helton
Albert Pujols
Derrek Lee
Johnny Damon
Michael Young
Mark Teixeira
Ichiro Suzuki
Jason Bay
Miguel Cabrera
Carl Crawford

Yeah, those names are a pretty good company to be in. But if you take out the 100 run requirement (which I already talked about how it's mostly a result of the guys around Jeter), the list gets a lot longer and begins to include some non-superstar names, including:

Mark Ellis
Brian Roberts
Rondell White
Mike Jacobs
Chad Tracy
Matt Holliday
Brady Clark
Todd Walker
Tony Clark
Coco Crisp

As you can see, there are plenty of guys hitting .300 with 10+ HR. The only reason Jeter is "special" is because he plays in New York and happened to be in the right place at the right time when New York began their championship run. You can't tell me that they wouldn't have won those championships without Jeter. That's just flat out wrong.

Bottom line is: Jeter = overrated, overpaid. Doesn't deserve to be on the cover of a video game. Doesn't deserve to be on the cover of anything.

I'd love to point out that you don't have one shortstop on that list of players

Oh and Jeter didn't hit .300 one year, he has a CAREER .314 batting average. Not only does he get hits, he hits them in the clutch.

Yeah, I want to see morris serve the gopher balls into mucubbie {spell error}
cove. Maybe we can see him serve Griffey's 600 home run.
Giants made a great deal.{:

You know whats sad is that 'rockie' over here wants to argue whether Jeter is a first ballot Hall of famer, yet everybody in baseball or anybody who knows a lick about baseball knows that he is so much more valuable than any of those guys you mentioned besides the obvious ones (Arod, Pujols, Ichiro, Tejada) who are also headed to the Hall of Fame. Jeter is Number 2 behind only Arod in Runs scored for the past ten years and if you argue thats a result of the people around him than I have to mention that he has a CAREER .386 On Base Percentage. Gets an average of 193 Hits since '96 (his first year in the majors, where he was rookie of the year) he gets an average of 63 walks per year and still produces an average of 76 RBI and 16 HRs as a Number 2/Leadoff hitter. Did I also mention that he is one of the most clutch hitters in baseball, or how about the fact that as a ShortStop he has the best instincts in baseball. Also he has a career .980 fielding percentage while being one of the most intelligent baserunners in BASEBALL. Jeter is a First Ballot Hall of Famer and thats a FACT, facts cant be argued; if Jeter was an outfielder his numbers might not stand out as much, of course they would still be great but they stand out a lot more because he is a ShortStop. If you want to argue that you dont think he should be the cover boy again then whatever but the fact that you want to argue he isnt a first ballot Hall of Famer is the jealousy in you. All that proves hes a First Ballot Hall of Famer whithout even mentioning he goes out every day and plays as if its game Seven of the World Series. Thats is why Jeter would be chosen for the best all around ShortStop in history (which is up for debate) by many baseball writers and baseball****ysts. Just email Peter Gammons see what he tells you (another hall of famer).

Jeter was great but he is past his time. THe dynasty is over!!!!!!!
He still can post good numbers but, if he was on a team besides the yankees how would you see him. I would do good too with a lineup like that. SAme with joe torre. He is a great man but anyone could manage the yankees. When torre was with the cardinals he didn't make the playoffs once. But then Tony Lurussa comes in and wins without playing Ozzie Smith like he should.
Yankees Figure it out, the champs have team players and good pitching.
Remeber the old rotation. Teams like marlins, White sox, red sox, astros, angels
Clemmens
Wells
Mussina
Pettitte
El Duque
Get players like David Eckstien, Get players like Jeter who knows what it means to be a yankee, Play to win not for the money
Star Power pitcher don't work how well did the big 3 do in the playoffs. How did Atlanta usually do with over worked staters in the playoffs.

I've got to say, Jose Reyes is soo much better than Jeter. hehe jk Jose is a completely different player than Jeter. I think he is a better fielder though.
