Is it at all possible to somehow get the new rosters into my already started season?

It is annoying not having the latest Panthers' trades. IK still have Hagman who went to Dallas, and I can't find Siemenov, and where is Montador.

I thought by paying $50 for a live subscription I would be able to play with updated lines. ...real injuries even. What gives?

Also, I tried to play a couple of online games and was totally slaughtered like 20-3. Is that because of my skill or is there some sort of "super team" exploit these guys are using?

thanks!

haha, you got beat 20-3. I'm pretty good at it. I just beat some guy 20-5. Seriously. I'm ranked I think 229. Something like that. If you would like some tips or something, let me know. I would be glad to help you out. My gamertag is in my sig. Just give me a friend invite and we can hook up.

Well, Category 5. The only way you're losing 20-3 (and the only way beltranfan05 is beating people 20-5) is by lameass people using the couple of scoring exploits that this game has. Quick wrist shot to the top corner from the slot? It's going in. Same with the old NHL 94 scoring exploit. Skate out from the corner and put a wrist shot in the far side. And boy, let me tell you, this makes for a ****uva fun SIM hockey game! "Let's see how many goals we can score! Nevermind about defence or actually setting up plays that you can take pleasure in scoring from" Man, screw you guys. Go play NHL 06.

And man, there should be some way to indicate in the lobbies if you're a true Sim fan or a goal-exploiting *********...

Oh, and to answer your initial question... when you start a franchise or season, it is essentially making up a fictional, self-sustained season. It's not supposed to just mirror the real NHL. You can only control things from your own aspect and all trades are done from within. This is pretty much necessary to avoid just stacking your teams once it's started.
