Offically endorsed best way to save on Xbox?

Like others here, the Update did not totally fix the money saving problem.
What I would like to see is an admin outline the best way to save. I've had people tell me to just sign out and it should automatically save. I've had people tell me to go to MAIN MENU and choose the SAVE GAME option for a more reliable save. My own observations seem to point that both options stink.
I really want to like this game, but if the glitches drive me crazy. This is Coresoft's second foray and I expect better because of this.

It will only save once! If you enter a second room it does not save.

Turn off your Xbox and the go back on again!

What's even crazier is that 2K already "fixed" this bug.

Who puts out a patch that doesn't fix what it was supposed to fix, and then just leaves customers hanging? That's bull. Inredibly showing of what they're really thinking at the company (take the money and run).
