No, NBA 2K6 is made by Visual Concepts themselves while MLB 2K series is made by Kush Games, which is owned by Visual Concepts. There are differences, mainly animations. While NBA 2K series has great animations, MLB does not. However, they say they are fixing that this year, so hopefully this game will be up to par visually to the other 2K sports games.

The baseball game has a LOT of glitches. It's not better then MVP and sadly MVP's 2005 Version is basically the same thing then 2004 and still outdid them.

What game is better? MLB 2K5 or MVP 2005?

While the animation's in MLB2K5 were bad, it was Blueshifts animations that made them look bad. Kush had enough time to change the gameplay elements and add presentation elements, also change the pale sick looking player models, but the animations were pretty much carried over from 2K4.

I think animations is the biggest focus for Kush, especially after the interview. With a whole year to work on the game, I'm sure we'll see a big change in 2K6. Kush can perform great animations, because NHL 2K6 looks really good in that department. While the graphics in NHL aren't great, the animations look supurb.

The graphics in MLB 2K5 looked really good, but the carried over animations looked bad. If Kush is actually performing their experience on animations, then the graphics of MLB2K6 would be greatly enhanced. You may not see it in still pics, but you'll probably see it in videos. (Much like how people thought NBA 2K6 looked just like 2K5. However, the game looks much better due to improved motion and animations)

It would best be wise to not judge MLB2K6 by last years game. MLB 2K5 was put together in a short span. What they did was pretty amazing within that short time. However, there should be no excuse for 2K6 to look or play bad.

I actually bought both games mvp05 and mlb2k5 the first one I play was mlb2k5 and I stop the first day I just could not understand why victor zanbrano of the Mets would stop every ball hit up the middle like if he was Jose Reyes get me I dint like that I tried and put a different difficulty setting no luck so I just dint like striking 27 batter in one game whit Kris Benson there ware a lot of sliders here in the forum to use but why do you have to do it should it be automatically you know easy medium hard and all-star or something but all the settings play the same. In the other hand MVP05 did not hand all the cool cut scenes ECT. But game play was better pitcher and batter reacted like the real player I never cough more than 3 balls up the middle with the pitcher compare to the pitcher in mlb2k5 everything up the middle was an out.

Now that mlb 2k6 has no competition from other companies I am afraid that they would slack up and not improve the game as they would if EA and other rival companies would force them too

First, Kush is not EA, the game will be improved. Second, there is still competition

They are still getting competition.. MLB 2006 will blow this game out of the water.

I'm a big 2K sports fan and i play since NFL and NBA 2K (SEGA). I don't like the EA sports game exept Tiger Woods but i have to be honest. MVP2005 is better than MLB 2K5. I think everybody shoud rent MLB 2K6 first for play and test the game because this year we not pay 29.99$ (can). I really hope it's good this years.
