I was biting my fingers on this one. I thought for sure the Eagles would land him. I'm glad the Ravens got him. I think the plan is to couple some later round picks and trade back into the 2nd round.
Latest reports are that we are also in negotiations with Sapp. I don't know if we will do much with this. I think we will compare Sapps demands with Marcellus Wiley and the lower bid will get picked up by the FO. Myself, I think Wiley is a better fit being that he has played in a 34 defense in his days in Buffalo. But I wouldn't be opposed to Sapp.
The Ravens DO need to resign Marcus Robinson though. If they have Owens as the #1, Robinson as the #2 and Taylor in the slot with Heap at TE and Jamal in the backfield all that is needed is for Jim Fassell to use his magic on Boller and we can be sure not to be the #32 passing attack in the league next year.

so much for being a cincinnati fan period. but hey the ravens and bengals have played some good games though.this is a move that will put baltimore over the top this season i think owens is a great pick up for them.as for sapp i heard on espn that he wants to stay in tampa so take that for what you will

I really think Sapp will stay in Tampa, but money talks.
The trade for Owens was a steal. This may go down as the one of the biggest one-sided trades of all time, ala...Walker to the Vikes for darn near every pick the Vikings ever thought about for 3 years.
Owens does add more to the passing attack. Taylor is a guy who has never impressed me yet. For two years now, you read in all the preseaon magazines that Taylor will have a break out season. I have yet to really see anything from him. Robinson is not what he once was, but he will essentially be the number three guy. Owens on the Ravens helps Heap more than anyone I think. He should be able to find holes in the seam. There is no linebacker in the league who cover him and with the safety attention to Owens...heap should have a big year.
The only problem i see with this team is Bollier. I think he has a lot of skill and potential, but i dont see them as a Super Bowl contender yet. However, Brady made the transition nicely. Plus, you made a great point about Fassels magic. He turned Collins into a pro-bowler again. No doubt he could do the same.
I still dont move them above the top 4 in the AFC but they have certianly closed the gap. I think a lot of their ability will be in Bolliers hands. But as chris Bermans says, "That is why the play the games."
