"MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!"
I think this quote very hot for NYI as well. They have won just one of their last seven (1-3-2-1) and even Yashin that expected to play today might be not enough for playoff.

I can't wait till the 20th of March, because that is when the Rangers get a little revenge served to them. I hope they saw the Ottawa Vs Flyers game the other night, because they are going to get beat down even worse.
FYI: Rangers - Islanders, who cares they both (edited by Mod). Next you'll get a Buffalo or Penguins fan throwin in his two cents about making the playoffs.

For now I think Wardens sig should be
"YOU ALL BEAT US"
However all joking aside I think that the sudden stockpiling of young cheap talent means the Rangers now realize that buying any player with a name doesnt net you a cup. I think in about 2 years the NYR will be a consistent playoff team (This is on the assumption that by then Sather will be gone)

Todays game point us that this process will be much faster.
Counting that some players just got to locker room from all over N. America and some never skated together they managed to shut ATL and show quick and entertaining hockey.
2-0 vs ATL is not a big deal , I agree, but for the team that went trough deadline rush and got every line filled with new players such a result is a big thing.
And once again - game was fast paced and entertaining.....

I hate the Islanders. After Detroit the Rangers are the best.

Yeah, I guess it applies. were in a bit of a skid and Milbury did nothing to help us at the deadline. But I seriously doubt Buffalo will catch us. With Yashin back and DiPietro on top of his game, we'll be hard to beat.

 yashin, why does everyone think him coming back means so much, its not like havin forsberg coming back, the trade for yashin was a bad one. And Dipietro is the epitomy of inconsistency. Your GM is a (edited by Mod; Hey hey!!!!), hes traded bertuzzi, palffy, turgeon, luongo, brewer, mcabe, weekes ,and chara to just name a few. Seriously, think if your team just kept all there picks, and actually let the players develop before they traded them away.
Go buffalo!

 yeah its not hard to come outa the east when the flyers had crappy checkmanek, the leafs were to dumb(ie penalties and such),the sens to wussy, the lightning to inexperienced. Good luck this year unless marty brodeur turns into God himself, i dont think the devils are coming outa the east w/ the current team they have, and if by luck they do i doubt theyd win the Cup.
So btw we dont need anyone coming to these boards to bring up stuff thats in the past and has nothing to do with whats going on in the NHL now, its all about this yrs playoffs and games not 10 yrs ago sheesh. And this is the only year where the east stacks up in teams in playoff position all the way through, normally the west teams 1-8 are better than the east teams 1-8 which means the west teams are in harder, longer, more demanding series, this yr remains to be seen if this will hold true come playoff time.

It's good to remember the past, the Devils are an awesome force in the league. The Rangers have never really been a dynasty. I like them for the history of the club, there's so much more to being a Hockey fan than we won the cup. If the Rangers kept all their great picks, Amonte for one, we'd be better off? I really want to see a Western Conf. team win this year Not Detroit Please. I 'd like to see Minnesota, Nashville or SanJose Win. The NHL is so driven by past accomplishmnets that it's no wonder that we as Hockey Fans are too. So keep talking about those Past Cups won and lost 10 years ago yeah, The Rangers sure did win it all 10 years ago. Ever watch ESPN classic? wonder why they even have that channel?

Point being not that the past is not important, but in this case it is. Have fun braggin about beating the rangers(which every team is able to do)bcuz right now i dont see the devs goin very far.

Wait, your from upstate NY, yet your a Colorado fan? Thats what high school kids used to call a "frontrunner", in my day, if you wore a Dallas Cowboys jersey on Long Island, you were a frontrunner.
Unless you moved from Denver to NY, your just picking a team you know will win. So.......why arent you a Sabres fan? Or better yet, an islanders fan?
P.S.-Youve said "DiPietro is the epitomy of inconsistancy" in about 3 different threads, do keep it to yourself. He always bounces back, and is a damn good goalie.

why dont you get the info before you make judgements, my fav team is colorado bcuz i get HNIC here and i used to watch the nordiques(along w/ all the other canadian teams every sat when i was little). The nordiques were my fav bcuz of sakic. They moved got good drafting and now there at the point they are. And i am a sabres fan i watch them all the time on empire(there only 2nd to the avs for me).
Ah the childhood days of potvin gilmour andreychuk on the leafs, maclean bure courtnall(i loved him a hockey player w/ my rare name RUSSELL, and he was good!)on the nucks, muller roy an co on the habs, eek and a team i loved cuz of JR an belfour(who was is kinda still a goalie fav of mine as hes always been underrated for many yrs, although his legal trouble wavered my love for him)larmer suter chelios amonte ect on the bhawks ahh the memories of all the old teams...
ps NYR29 or whatever your name is you have blackburn remember, he should develop into a good goalie(i think hes only 20 right now and hes played ok so far at a young age in the pros)
