Well nux, it looks like the dirtiest player in the NHL honor now goes to Bertuzzi. I know that Moore had a hit coming, but come on....
That was a lot overboard and I hope they suspend him for the rest of the season and postseason.
What a dirty hit...shame shame shame

I say he's gone for 15 games + the playoffs.
Would the suspension go into the new season?
May be....should it? IMO..No
Yes, he caused the punch, but in the heat of the moment from the fall, Moore broke his neck.
Bert didn't "ram" his face into the ice,he was falling down & what do people do when they fall?
They put their hands in front of them to break their fall.
About the cops getting involved. That due to citizen complaints.
Blah to that.
Did he go over the line, No...did it go to far..Yes.
How many time have you seen players sucker punch others?
LOTS.
Too bad Moore looked like he was knocked out before he hit the ice.
If Bert didn't fall on the guy....then it wouldn't be as bad as it is now.
I still support the Canucks and Bertuzzi.
Don't let the outcome (the extent of the injury) over shadow the situation.

This is one of the things thats really bothering me. The injury SHOULD ALWAYS have an impact on the decision. All ive heard the past few wks before this is accountability. Guess what, bertuzzi made an idiotic decision, therefore he's held responsible for whatever may happen(in this case did happen)to the victim(moore). Ever here of responsibility for your actions, he made a bad choice now he has to suffer the consequences of his decision.

Oh cut the **** he rode him into the ground. Also I don't seem to remember all the Vancuver fans saying the cops shouldnt be involved when the McSorely incident took place.

I think Bertuzzi should be suspended the remainder of the season and the playoffs. He has a history of knuckle headed on ice decisions, when it comes to violence. Maybe if he loses the playoffs and a chance for his name on the Cup, others may take notice.

I wish he just would of turned him around then punched him, but he didnt. I dont think the law should be involved, where do you draw the line from that?, every time someone gets injured from a slash/dirty hit/fight blah blah blah ppl will bring up the issue of legal action.....
We see sucker punches often in the NHL, rarely with an outcome like this though. I say he gets 10-15 games..
remember when Domi elbowed Niedermayer in the face out of nowhere ? and he had to be taken out on a stretcher ?? does anyone know what kind of suspension he got for that ?? casue it is very similar to the incident a few nights ago... I think he only got like 8 games or so, but im not sure...

ugh...thats the problem tho, the NHL is to lenient on this kind of crap. Johnson only got 12 games for cheap shotting Beukaboom and ending his career. 12!!! Plus there very inconsistent w/ sentencing. This is where they need to turn it all around starting here.

Whoever said that he rode him to the ice is just crap.
Your 250lbs and you fall frontwards, your going to put your hands in front of you.
In the heat of the moment you don't think that the guys out cold w/ the punch, you don't think he's really that hurt.
But it looked bad than it really was.
Who's to blame?
EVERYONE.
Moore shouldn't hit a #1 star player WHILE HE WAS FALLING DOWN...The Refs should have a called a penalty on the original Naslund hit, The League should have took some action to protect the stars. Granto shouldn't have had Moore on the ice when the game was turning ugly and Bertuzzi could have acted differently.
The league talks about wanting more goals scored and making the game more exciting.
How exciting can the game be when one of the only players who can still score 45+ goals gets knocked?
And yes, I do remember LOTS of fans thinking the police should have never gotten involved in the McSorely incident. Fans in Vancouver want this and those are the bandwagon jumpers.
Get off the wagon and start booing.
btw...it's not like Granato never did a 270 degree swing with HIS HOCKEY STICK at someones head did he????

How was it Berts intention to drive moore into the ground when he's pullin on his jersey?? It was the momentum that drove both players on the ground.

He pulled him back so he could hit him. He was right on top of Moore when it happened.
But it doesn't matter if Bertuzzi's intention was to drive him into the ice or not. The fact of the matter is that he made a stupid decision, and he should be held accountable for what happened to Moore, whether it was intentional that he drove him into the ice or not. He made the decision to suckerpunch him, so he should take responsibility for the outcome of it.

Yes, that's why I thought the suspension was enough.

well said.
The punishment by the league on Betuzzi part is fair. HOWEVER...the fine to the Canucks Organization is unjust.
How can the team be accountable when the Colardo side left Moore out to dry.
Granto could have sat Moore out when it started to turn ugly. The ref could have called mis-conduct call on Cooke and Moore and send them both off.
The refs could have did more and I can't stand how Campbell said the refs did as much as they could. That's just BS.
Well...forget the World Cup, let's hope NHL will let Bert play next year.

Judging by Crawford's devilish grin he had on while he watched a man laying in a pool of his own blood, I want to think that Bertuzzi was put out there with one purpose only - get Moore. Bert's line wasn't out there, they were down late in the game...
So I think if he was put out in a situation and told to hit Moore, then the fine is just. But it might not be. Who knows.

think about what you just said, he was smirking because the colorado bench was yelling(in turn hes thought it was funny/amusing that they were yelling about what happened, which in turn shows that he thought the situation was ok)
