Is It Worth It?

I have been anticipating the release of this game, but the reviews have been disapointing. I see some good reviews but IGN gave it a 7.4. I already entered a league but it hasn't start up yet. Somebody linked an article saying new versions are coming out. Is the game worth buying now or should I wait for the later release? I'll take opinions on what you thought of the game, too.

IGN is full of ****. This game is the best basketball game out there when you can connect to games online. Don't believe IGN, they're horribly wrong on this one.

I agree with the Dukie. I love this game already, especially online. I love the fact that you can't wiggle through the defense and dunk all the time like on NBA2K6. That was the major thing I wanted to see, and 2K did a good job adjusting that aspect of the gameplay. I also like the fact that mid-level teams can be very competetive against the power teams such as Uconn and Duke, as I beat both of those teams by 30+ points already today. I honestly think this game is much better than the NBA version, and quite possibly the best basketball game I've ever played. And this is coming from a lifelong EA Sports guy.

Yeah, its the best basketball game out there... when you can connect to games online. Lucky for you, you don't appear to be having that problem.

I've played 5 games and attempted about 6 others that were unregistered. It just doesn't bother me because I know they'll get it sorted out soon, and it's not like it's doing it after 20 minutes of playing.

I didn't pickup the college game yet. You guys know i'm usually late with it ;) But their college game always seem to play more sim than the NBA game.

i also haven't picked this game up yet,but its one game im definately looking forward to.
