you would think they would put a little more detail into the possible Coach of the Year this season.. Instead of an overrated tubby :).. dont get me wrong Kentucky is a great franchise.. guess I am just a little upset with how TN's coach looks on this game.. anyone else look at Tennessee's coach? most of you probably dont care lol! :)

Honestly, who really cares what the coaches look like? As long as the gameplay is tight and the AI doesn't fall for stupid garbage, which it is, then it's all good for me.

Bruce Pearl is not coach of the year... Tubby thoroughly outcoached him in the last matchup. Pearl let Rondo go one on one and that lost the game for them. I can't believe anyone would let Rondo drive the entire game.

Anyway, Roy Williams is coach of the year... No doubt.

I think the coach of the year will either be Roy Williams or Bill Self. Both of them lost nearly an entire team yet found a way to get thier teams in the top 25 playing a bunch of unproven players. In the case of Self, he's starting 3 freshman and 2 sophmores on a team that has 3 seniors and 2 juniors, all of whom aren't very good players.

Most likely, money... I heard that Rick Pitino was not on the game because he was charging more than all the other coaches combined.

I don't see how you think Roy Williams deserves coach of the year. Maybe if he had a team that had no talent, you might have a point. NC is a young team with pure talent which usually leads to big time success. TN on the other hand, is a team that was projected to finish last in the sec east and Bruce turned them into the #1 team in the East. The difference between Tn and NC is that TN does not have the pure talented players which makes Bruce Pearl's job so much better. Bruce has the got a team with one GREAT shooter in Loften and a bunch of GOOD players (not pure talented players). So in my opinion what Bruce has done at TN is unbeleviable, because i watched a more talented TN team last year come in basically last in the SEC east last year so don't try and tell me that Bruce is not COACH OF THE YEAR over Roy Williams.
I will admit i am bias towards TN because i been a TN fan all my life but i feel Bruce has worked magic like no one else has this year!

UNC does deserve it (I'm a arizona fan, i hate the ACC). Arizona has a tough schedule and has played close with all the top teams they have played (their losses have come from teams in top 25, including losses to uconn, mich state, ucla, washington). UNC destroyed Arizona, all with a freshman class. A good coach makes good players into great players. Rarely does a player come from highschool and dominate college like Hansborough has.

Anybody can coach a Duke or UNC... Every year these teams are STACKED with incoming talent and they turn away players that most teams drool over. Many of their freshman class could go straight to the pro's. I like Mike K and williams but let's be honest. If you can't recruit and win at these programs then your just trash as a coach.

Give these coaches lesser talent and see how well they would do then. I don't think neither of these coaches could do much for a Prairie View for example...

We put too much into coaching in college... Once your on the court, coaching don't mean squat imho. Player ability and chemistry with each other is more important. All a coach can do is mentor and instruct players so that they are prepared in game situations. Once the ball is tipped the players have to put the ball in the bucket.

You and I could coach Duke/UNC...

Williams=more cred because he brought Kansas back as a power program. You couldn't coach that team...he turned Heinrich and Collison into great players, as well as others like Paul Pierce.

He turned Pierce and Heinrich into great players??? Those guys were off the charts regardless. Talent is talent, the coach has little to do with talent. Either the person has it or they don't. A donkey will never win the Kentucky derby no matter who trains them.

Granted a coach can mold talent but chit is chit no matter how you dress it up.
