If that last video had 360 footage? I know everyone was convinced but does everyone still think it is after seeing more pictures of the 360 version? Also just wondering if anyone thinks there will be new homerun graphics to give each stadium there own unique feel, like fireworks only where they should have them, example...not at Yankee Stadium!! Things like that

that video had like 10 seconds of "video" and none of it was gameplay. I need to see gameplay footage to judge the graphics

why was everyone saying there was a lot of 360 footage because the blur in the background and the shirts moving in the wind?

I agree. I feel the final product will look great. So we just have to wait to see. Then again why would they not put it under the 360 page? They have it under the current gen page. I also notice that 2k lways displays the screens first then the video.

It's already been said that it's a 360 vid. From the menu ques that say to use the bumpers. The current Xbox doesn't have bumpers.

it's totally a 360 video. their not going to have swaying uniforms in the xbox or ps2 version. plus, there was a point in the video where they showed a menu screen and you could clearly see the RB and LB white buttons. case closed. Don't be expecting this huge difference in the 360 version compared to the xbox/ps2 versions. it's mostly just a port

It started out as Big League Tuesday now it's big league whenever we feel like throwing an update up there. Back to the point.......totally a 360 vid man. Go check it out again you'll see some totally not on the current Xbox stuff. It makes no sense to use the 360 menus and Xbox vid.....ummm....no I mulled it over again just now..still doesn't make since.

It is 360 because it's on all the websites as 360 video. Gamespot, Gametrailer.com or ext.

here is my theorey all the xbox/ps2 vids have the controllers in the window of the vid
but some of them dont i would have to say the ones that dont have them are the 360 ones they dont look all that great but dont worry in a recent hands on i cant remember the site they said tht 2k called them back for another updated version of the game so neither way you are not seeing the full visuals etc in those vids

whoever thinks that is 360 graphics are crazy. the menus are 360 but the gameplay footage was from current gen.

the reason people think it is 360 footage is because the clothes movement, and ripples in the back stop.

You wish current gen looks like that, look at the colr of the Yankees helmets, they are a very dark blue almost black, in current gen games the yankees helmets are a light blue.
OH YA! I am **** sure it is is a 360 video.

that is exactly why it's a 360 video. people are going to be very disappointed if their expecting a huge difference from the xbox/ps2 version vs. the 360. it's a 360 video plain and simple. just nothing special.

i also believe that the menu is 360, and the footage is xbox. why would 2k release a video with no 360 hype if that video was 360. who says you cant make uniforms move on xbox. your first 360 video would not be as vague as that video was. no desciption, no hype, no introduction. thats like ford showng a commercial for the 2007 mustang, but not hyping up the product or trying to sell the priduct to the consumer. no sales pitch.

If you really believe the Xbox version is going to have that feature, then I don't want to be anywhere close by when you pop the game in your console for the first time. Because you are going to be bitterly upset ;)

no its not a 360 video otherwise they would have it on the mlb 2k6 360 website. They dont have any videos under that site yet therefore this video is current gen

March 29th, 2006, 11:49 AM
They have pushed the current gen to the limit graphically, you won't see any significant improvement over last years game graphically, just look at the textures in this video, look at the grass texture and dirt, there is NO WAY! that is a cureent gen video

Actually the PS2 folks would see a big improvement graphically just by getting the xbox version as they havent even seen triple pass rendering yet. Not to mention the 360 version. Current xbox users may not see much of a differencce besides the cloth movements.
Also the stadiums are supposed to be entirely redone for the 360. That could add alot to the mix.
And I do believe that is 360 footage, but who knows from what build ? The fact is that its a few seconds of a vid that was not intended to showcase 360 footafge in any way, shape, or form. It was a menu vid that used a few secconds of gameplay as filler. Heck I wouldnt even be surprised if 2K didnt even realized they used 360 footage there. Its almost like the tutorial vids that are in the games. When you watch those tutorials in your game they look horrible. They dont even resemble what the game actually looks like.
I just think we need a little more than a few seconds of a vid that wasnt even designed to show gameplay to make any type of judgememt positive or negative.

Here's the video in a little better quality. Stop the video @ the 43 second mark. Then go to the xbox site & look @ the shot of Derek Jeter hitting. It's the same exact animation. Then look @ dirt & grass. Looks exactly the same to me.

I set up a game, pitched to A-rod so he hit the ball, then checked the replay. For sure the swing is different. In 2K5, A-Rod's head during the swing follow-through ends up pointed toward the third base dugout. In the vid, it doesn't go around anywhere near that far. Also in the vid, A-Rod appears to be watching the pitch as it comes in, whereas in 2K5 his head never really appears to be looking at the ball.
The rest is hard to say, given the angle. IMO, Jeter’s stride in the GameInformer pic is much longer and more realistic or life-like than A-Rod's stride in the vid. In fact, I’d say the stride in the vid and A-Rod’s stride in 2K5 were almost identical. But again, the angle is bad so it's difficult to compare it to Jeter's stride. Regardless, the swing animation in 2K6, for some players at least, has been improved. And maybe this new swing animation has been added for the 360 only -- who knows?

Give it up man. Those are 360 vids man. Just go look at it. Like baandje said if you think that's current gen save yourself the trouble and don't get it because those uniforms are gonna be tack welded on just like they have been for the past few years.......or always for that fact of the matter.
