I've read a lot of different threads on people's persepectives about the presentation of the game.

From my experience, it appears that they are trying to present this game like you are at home watching it on your TV. Hence, you get the announcers, the replays, the cut scenes, etc. I think 2K does a pretty damm good job of this and it's the "feel" that I think that sports games should have.

I do read others who want more of a "ballpark experience" and want the game to experience things one would while attending the games. Such as hecklers, the PA announcer, chants and other stadium specific things.

A lot of that stuff you don't get via the TV-you usually can't hear the heckles, certain sounds of the game, and usually you can't get a good idea of how loud it may be in the stadium.

Of course, while attending the game, you lose out on the play by play announcers, the instant replays and things like K-zone.

I think it is safe to say that most of us want something in between.

But if you could only choose one perspective when playing this game, what would it be (this has nothing to do w/camera angles, but strictly atmosphere wise)?

I'm "strictly TV". I shut off all stadium and batter walk-up music, plus I lower the PA announcer until his voice is just a low muffle -- can't make out the player's names. I also lower the onfield sounds so they're barely audible, which helps make the bat sound in 2K listenable. So really, it's just John and Joe talking baseball with some background noise in the distance -- just like ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.

Both with more emphasizes on TV becuz that is the way that REAL TV is now....with the microphones inside the bases....and the big round bowl that acts like a directional microphone u could really hear the crowd roaring as well as (granted very little player chatter) balls hitting gloves, feet hitting the bases, and dirt hittin base during slides....LIVE TV HAS STOLEN ALL THESE IDEAS FROM BASEBALL GAMES not the other way around!....which is a good thing

Right, except TV doesn't have bats that sound like cannon shots, glove and slide effects that sound like a grenade going off, and organ music that sounds like a freaking carnival is going on in your living room.

If you listen to a TV broadcast, you don't hear hecklers, or walkup music, or PA announcers. And the onfield sounds are very restrained. When was the last time you heard a batter as he tapped the plate with his bat, or the sound of the bat as he drops it after a hit? In video games, it's THUMP, THUMP, THUMP..... WHAMP!
