MLB The Show has been called by many, me included, to be a system seller. I have an XBOX and was considering buying MLB 2K6. If anyone will be getting the 360 version please let me, and everyone else who's on the cusp of buyin 360, if MLB 2K6 is a system seller for that system. I don't wanna throw down $600 but if this game is the best baseball game of all-time i may consider it.

Umm we don't know. We have no video and like 13 screenshots. We are just as in the dark as you are.

2K6 will not be a ‘system seller’. And yes, that’s IMO. But given what we’ve seen with the mediocre vids and things like poor player and team ratings, it really doesn’t look like much more than a slightly improved 2K5. They’ve got a lot of work to do before the game’s ever going to be in the ‘great’ category, including tearing the whole game apart and starting over.
If I had a PS2 instead of a 360? I’d stick with The Show for this year, no question.

Wouldnt MLB 06 be considered a "system duster offer" more than a "system seller" ?
I havent heard of a sudden rush of people buying PS2's just for MLB 06. lol
Regarding the 360. I dont think a " system seller" has been created yet for the system. I havent even played mine for like a month. Im pretty much a 100% sports gamer. And not any of the current sports titles for the 360 hold my attention. I went back to playing Forza on my xbox.

Well if we talking system sellers, that would be GRAW and Oblivion at this point.....I think MLB2k6 will be solid overall...in the history of sports games Ive only played one game that would make me buy a system, and that was 2k1 on the dreamcast...if you were a football fan you had to buy a dreamcast to play that game cuz it was that good....Now if you must play the best baseball game released for this season, then i think 2k6 will be that game..Do you have to play it on the 360?....that remains to be seen

the only way MLB 2k6 is a system seller is if you only play Baseball games, and only want a Xbox 360

I hear you there. I literally went and bought a Dreamcast 20 minutes after seeing NFL2K1 for the first time. A friend brought it over. We started a game. Half way through the first quarter I got in my car , drove down to EB, and bought my own system.
I still do not understand how Dreamcast did not survive off that title alone ? I mean it even had online play.

Sounds almost identical to my experience: I was a PC gamer until I walked into EB one day and saw NFL 2K4 playing. Walked out 20 minutes later with an Xbox, and haven't touched the PC since.

I did the same thing, but I had to wait for my next pay check to arrive.
I can seriously remember how excited I was for the first WSB. I was playing a baseball tournament out of town and had my parents bring the DC and pick up the game for me.
I then remember how let down I was when I realized that you couldn't control the defense. I spent all night in my hotel room trying to figure out how to set the fielding to manuel, only to find out that you couldn't.

I remember that one. I felt like snaping the game in half. I also went and bought a dreamcast as soon as i saw it. It truly felt like next gen at the time. Dreamcast did not have many developers at the time giving the system any type of support so sega loss money.

Not to be mega off-topic but I miss the dreamcast. You guyz bought back some siic memories there man. That one unit revived my love for 2D fighters. Back on topic no sports game should ever be a system seller PERIOD!!

sports games are usually never system sellers, let alone a baseball title. as much as I love baseball videogames they don't sell that well (at least for 2ksports) in comparison to other sport games.
nfl 2k4 for xbox was probably one of my favorite games

NFL2k5 was a system seller...I bought my Xbox pretty much for that game alone...I mean it helped that EA was finally getting online wif the Xbox too...But NFL2k5 was pretty much my reason for copping an XBOX (aka ***box)
