Hideki Matsui- he had an OK year last year but is still due for a great year in the majors. we wanna see the 50 homers he hit in japan over here.
Luis Gonzalez- once revered as top 5 in the majors and a major contender for the home run crown when barry broke the record, Luis has gone down hill and is waiting for the spark to come back.
Ichiro Suzuki- he had a slump year last year and is ready to break the record for the hitting streak.
Ken Griffey Jr.- the man, the legend, the man we know as "Jr." has been struggiling even since he has hit cincinati. this guy is amazing and when know that b/c even if he never picks up a bat he will be a first ballot hall-of-famer. will this be his season to strike back?
Shawn Green- this guy has been pumping out steller #'s for years on end but is still waiting for the breakout season he diserves.
Adam Dunn- this baseballer is huge. he is quick. he has a huge bat.............er...... i mean he can hit, but we are still waiting for him to breakout. this year might be it.

first of all dunn and griffey do deserve to be on this list somewhat. but the rest i have to say no way. lets go name by name...
hideki matsui:true it might be disapointing he only hit 16 hrs but he was only in his 1st year in the mlb and he hit 290 while driving in over 100 rbi's. how could you complain about that? shouldn't be here.
Luis gonzalez:he had a good year last year and he shouldn't be here.
Ichiro: No way
Shawn Green:yes he wasnt great last year but he had a breakout year in 2001--297 avg 49hrs 125rbi 20 steals.
if i picked the list i would have put on the rookies or guys that were once had high ceilings but they caved in and fell on top of them.

I think it'll be David Ortiz. He had a great year last year but didnt play until mid season, I think this year he will be great

How much better of a year can Ortiz have , the guy was a bench player in Minnesota !!
My prediction for MVP is Eric Chavez

Theres a difference in MVP than breakout player. I am saying he will double many of his stats, there are a lot of good possible MVP's out there

I mean he will tear it up this year and finally show his true potential and I think he will win the MVP.
Chavez never really had his amazing season and I think it's due.

i have to say adam dunn not just because im a reds fan but i got to watch this guy grow into the ball player he is when he played for the dayton dragons and i have followed his career up until now too but the one thing i dont like is there are trade talks between the reds and dodgers for him and if he becomes a dodger i am a dodger fan too i guess.im sorry but im really one of adam dunns biggest fans nothing against the reds. really like adam dunn said in a interview i read if i get traded thats baseball but i do wanna stay a red man i hope he does though.

Ken Griffey Junior
He will have the best year he has ever had
Way better of a year than in seattle
I see him doing well and staying in Cincinnati
if he does do bad though hes done in cincinnati
He is already an Hall of Famer

He was my choice, but he wont have a year like he did in Seattle, he is OLD now, although he still is capable of 35-40 HR's and 120+ RBI's

Ichiro is already a great player plus he broke the hit record LAST YEAR so how can he be a breakout player. Matsui will finally show why he gets so many all-star votes from the japanesse.
