I played this guy and he was using the knicks. He hit literally EVERY 3 pointer he took with Allan Houston. If it was T-mac or Peja or Dirk or something it would be fine, but something smelled fishy. He never even took him out of the game but he never seemed to get tired.

Absolutely, it is possible. I'm sick of all the players using turbo, setting double-teams on every one of my guys, setting defensive intensity to high on all the the players. There are so many lazy players online, it's sad. I'm hoping that next year Sega comes up with a plausible system that will take care of all this cheating:
no turbo
allow each player to set the camera of his choice for a half
real player fatigue
lower 3-point shooting percentages (or ratings)
more realistic ball-handling. they should WALK by default, make you press extra buttons to run up the court (this creates more intense situations)

What extra perks does turbo controllers allow? How does this enhance their game? I dont know if I've seen it in motion.

Yeah, I'm not sure what a turbo controller would do in a bball game...

I like the dude that complained about the double-teaming of his players. Here's what you do. Keep passing the ball.. Someone will be wide open. I know it may be tuff if you only have one superstar on your team but you got to learn to trust your teammates. I use the double team too. But I only double team the guards and the small foward. That way its harder for you to do the cross-over, make the defender stumble, 3 ball. You gotta just out think the opponent. I like putting my best 3 ball shooter as my center for all those people who like to camp under the basket to block all the shots. What.. Your down low trying to block my dunk?? Take this buddy. They learn quick...

Please use your head. I'm talking about the TURBO BUTTON. It makes your player go faster, and that is _not_ realistic buddy. If you think so, then you're just the type of Player I'm talking about. Furthermore, to the one in this thread who admitted that he sets double-teaming on the guards and the forwards, you're a cheater. If you can't play defense by switching players and have to rely on computer settings to do it for you, then I wouldn't waste my time playing you. You're a cheater.

Learn to read, then get back to me. In many posts I've said "double-teaming every player", which happens a lot. That IS cheating, and it is NOT in the NBA. No NBA team has the super-human speed to double-team every player, but I guess you all can do with the TURBO button that you love to punch.

Perhaps you left your brain beside the keyboard, when you started typing.
Maybe your smarter than the folks who created the game then & put that in as an option.
Since your here *****ing about it, I guess that's not the case.
NEWFLASH "IT IS A VIDEO GAME"!!! If you wanna be 100% realistic, put on your kicks & run some real ball, which obviously you cant do, it doesnt seem like you can play on the video game either, judging from your LAME complaints!
As far as speed bursts, I know it's very unrealistic, for a player to do a quick cross-over in the paint & speed pass the defender with a dunk or layup right???

yeah, he's a cry baby, I love when people double every body, cuz now you have to work the ball around, find the good shot. And if he does it to you, you should do it to him! Alot people who double everybody tries to scare you, but It'll help you. First of all, not all double teams work, when you double the PG, the Center comes to double, and thats bad news, are you gonna double GP and leave Shaq all alone? no. Second thing is when someone doubles more than one player, HE is gonna have to stick someone, thats when you get him, swing the ball around the three point arc to the otherside of the court and do your damage on the mismatches he created when he decides to double every one, it makes the game intense, and you gotta just look for the openings, BASKETBALL is not just run and dunk, its defense too, learn to play some, I know dudes who been playing vid bball games for 10+ years, and they never care about D#, those are the dudes who usually just use the Top TEAM and claim noone can beat 'em

You guys are crybabies...If you are a reall online gamer, which some of you are not, should be able to play on any angle, or any situation the other gamer puts on you. If you beat the gamer and he still cheesed you, it doesn't make him look like much.
I wouldn't call double teaming every player cheating, its called defense. If you moved the ball better, you would have someone wide open.

Double teaming every player is not cheating. It's stupid more than anything. If you can't handle it, then don't play online. Each time you get beat, I bet you say, "YOUR CHEATING, BOO HOO, I'M TELLING MY MOM"
LOL.

It's really funny when they doubble team you, because there's a flaw. It only double teams the position that the player plays. So if you have the Magic, and you own, and they double team the SG (which is Tmac) you should re-arrange roster. Make Tmac play SF or PF and he'll always be open for three's... that p*ssed the other player off so much that they dont know what to do.. hehe!

Well if you are planning to doubleteam or trap, play 3-2 zone and double with you small forward. It's like having extra players on the court.

I didn't know it's actually possible to hit a halfcourt shot on this game. I've had this game for so long and haven't hit any really long 3-pointers.

ya, it was a little bit in front of the halfcourt line. maybe around 5 feet. it was still pretty far behind the 3 point line

It only works if the defense is in a zone and they dont step up to defend. Its a spot just passed the half court mark.
