View Full Version : UK deserved a #3 seed at best

no depth
no true go-to guy for scoring
weak inside play
point guard that can't handle mental games
lack of killer instinct
How in the world UK (my favorite team) could have been considered the overall #1 seed is far beyond me. Anyone with decent basketball knowledge HAD to know that UK wasn't going to make it past the likes of Duke, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Maryland (yeah, even Maryland), etc.

First of all....Erik Daniels and Chuck Hayes can not easily be contained inside. So to say they have no inside game is ridiculous. True, they have a short bench, but it's because Tubby hasn't let them play enough to gain confidence in being out on the floor. I know from experience if you come off the bench and don't normally see a lot of minutes, you'll be so tense, afraid you'll make a mistake and come right out. That's what the entire bench is made of or was....players that haven't seen a lot of time and aren't quite sure of themselves in the game. Bobby Perry has come around and Sheray is or was becoming good. Cote was great for awhile, but his back bothered him. I think UK is one of the best teams this year. I don't care if they did lose Sunday. Their ball movement and defense is better than anyone elses. Shame it's all over....but don't start saying how they suck, cuz that's wrong.

Well said. We will be even better next year with the mix of experience and talent we will have, especially if Morris commits!

I do not understand how they got a #1 seed (the number 1 #1 seed), i think they deserved a one seed, but not the first one seed.
1. They have a great team
2. A greater coach
3. Plenty of killer instinct
4. One of the best guards in the game.
5. But you can say that about a lot of teams (UNC, UConn, OSU, Texas, Wake Forest)
