Penny...Bigtime players do NOT guarantee you anything. It really depends what you mean by bigtime players. To me the OBVIOUS definition is STAR...but you can be BIGTIME without being a star. Are David Givens or Deion Branch considered to be STARS? No...but they were BIGTIME players during our run.
The Bengals have a ton of room to improve and they will. I am excited to see them play and not many people give them the credit they deserve. Carson Palmer is the real deal and so is their offense. A good good football team in Cincinnati...you fans should be proud of your team.
Final Comment: With all the moves and trades and now the Draft...I don't think we will recognize the NFL this year. I still expect my Patriots to defend their title, but I also expect much improved teams to be Head Hunting for them. Good luck to all the NFL teams and I think this could be one of the BEST SEASONS EVER!

my real point is dat
to b a good team u really need to b good
cant b havin guys who r playin better, or good role playes like u mentioned
bengals r imporved but what i am sayin its not good enough if u think they have any chance at a title, u need to b a powerhouse
patriots won 15 to do it
buccs animal D, with BIGTIME players
niners in 90's also the smae
u need to b really good, not imporved to win,
dnt expect em to go to far, if playoffs no further then 1st rd, sorry to say

The Patriots (2001), Ravens, Rams, (and Carolina even though they didn't win) were all mediocre, at best, teams like the bengels prior to winning the big game. No one even heard of Kurt Warner before his superbowl run. The NFL has changed since the days of the 49ers and Cowboys stock piling talent to keep on their bench, to a more dynamic league, where you can expect the unexpected....

as far as the bengals not getting the so called big time talent yes they were in the running for sapp but he decided to go to the raiders because he said himself he wanted to be surrounded by hall of fame players and he also said he has alot of respect for marvin lewis and the way the bengals are going.whos to say they will just be a first round playoff team next year if they make the playoffs maybe just maybe you might see them in the superbowl look at carolina everyone was on there side because they got to the superbowl but did they win no but they did play a good game though and i for one knew they wouldnt win it this year.just give the bengals time they will open alot of eyes again and i for one cant wait im just glad there finally getting the respect back they deserve in the nfl.
