The more I think and play this game the more I wished my copy would FREEZE because given the circumstances that may be its best feature. In fact every developer should be taking notes and incoorporate a feature that makes their game freeze when its as bad as this game is.
Where do I start???...This is really an unacceptable game to put out on the 360...I knew this game was headed for trouble when I popped the disc in and saw the goofy opening with that nintendo gamecube thingy hoppin around segwaying into those goofy cartoon stars looking as if they were stolen from Looney Tunes...From that point forward the game just didn't feel like baseball...IMO after seing games like GRAW and the EA titles from a graphical perspective its amazing to me how any development team (KUSH) could put this game out on the market for the 360. The momentum of the players is fine for me..Not a problem... I saw a few animations that were decent but so many of the basic fundamental baseball elements are off that the good things are swallowed up by the overwhelmingly bad.
Let me try to put this as best I can...KUSH should be fired...This is absolutely the worst looking and playing baseball game I have ever seen or played...From the butt ugly graphics to the lollipop throws by infielders I was overwhelmingly unimpressed. Not only is the game BAD...its terrible IMO. I mean how do you not get a throw and swing animation down???..That absolutely baffles me because those very two things are the essence of any good and solid baseball game and when you have a Dev team that can't even get a mo cap throw or swin animation right..Well...IMO that means that they have to go.
I had no sense of depth in the stadiums...I never once felt like it was MLB environment or game..The uniforms for the Yankees and other teams are poorly done...Save for a few different batting stances each batter looks the same...many times when players throw the ball it looks like they are just shot putting it and the swing animations are still way off. Shoots...as bad as NBA2k6 was its not even close to this atrocity of a baseball game. IMO KUSH has to go and they really need to hire some people who actually know what baseball looks and feels like because this game gets an F in both departments.
This game leaves you thinking ...Please Freeze..Please for the love of God please FREEZE!!!

Your entitled to have whatever opinion you want about the game but is the intro to the game really a big deal?
And do you really think NBA 2K6 is bad? What type of bball game are you looking for if you think that is a bad game?

Classic. Simply a classic response to a post like his. :rotfl:
If you really think that this is "the worst looking game" ever, then you, my friend are in need of some glasses.
By 360 standards, it doesn't make your jaw drop in awe (it's tough to live up to the look of Fight Night Round 3)... but I think it's far from being the worst looking game that I have ever seen (on any console).
And FYI... a true gamer wouldn't be so hung up on how "bad" a game looks. Something to remember for future reference.

Naw..It doesn't look that bad but by 360 standards and given we have seen some excellent graphics such as GRAW, Madden, LIVE, FN Rd3. and now NCAA 2007...MLB2k6 is a slap in the face to anyone who bought a 360...Its incomprehensible how Kush put something that looks and plays like this out.
Like I said earlier the FREEZE is a great feature because once I start playing I just want the game to stop...I mean come on..LOLLIPOP throws from infielders???...My 7 year old daughter has better form than what they mocapped...The Swing animation = one word and that word is atroscious.
As for the intro...Well IMO that sets the tone for the game and too be honest the intro is irrelevant for the most part but after you play this game then you think back to that Gamecube thingy hoppin around and those Looney Tune Stars dancin all over the field it all makes perfect sense because thats exactly how to explain this game...LOONEY TUNES.
KUSH has effectively destroyed any hope of playing a baseball game with their twisted version of baseball. The brass with MLB should be calling 2k and asking them what the heck they are doing to the game because IMO they put out straight GARBAGE. The best feature in the game is the FREEZE. Thank god they got that right.

I disagree with you, but that's OK.
Also, the player models in NCAA 07 look kinda funny, IMO. The stadiums and everything look amazing, but I wasn't wowed by the player models.

That's the statement and sentiment I completely, absolutely relate to and agree with. 2K6 is not MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL. It's some programmer's odd and strange take on something that sort of resembles baseball. But it's not baseball.
But then they release this odd, strange game as supposedly representing the product MLB puts out. Even weirder.
Now, MLB The Show... THAT'S baseball. That's what Major League Baseball looks and plays like.

Looks? That game looks like ****.
It sure as heck beats anything that 2k sports has EVER put out. I can't beleive I was waiting for this game.
From everything I've read and heard, I'm glad I bought MLB 2006 The Show instead of this game
I might rent it just for fun, but at a $9.98/day rental rate that might be too rich for me if this game is as ****py as I've been hearing.
And just for the record, The Show freezes quite often as well. So for anyone expecting a perfectly clean playing game, your out of luck this year. It's a terrific game except for the freezing and sound lag.
It is truly sad that this years crop of BBall games has been programmed so bad that they CRASH!

Sorry, but that's not the case at all. Go over to the MLB forum on OS and read the posts there. Not one post on The Show freezing -- or having any major issue of any sort.

Well first of all im not the biggest baseball fan out there but i do follow the game during the playoffs ( go Astros). and i feel the game tries to hard to give u the feel of the game. thats why the game freezes. im mean your asking this game to present replays of the inning before, player pics, the announcer in the back ground talking the pa is talking at the same time, then u have pa music in the back ground, then stats for the player at bat, as well as the pitcher, not to mention the beautiful cut scenes of the ball park. pitcher stare downs. my point is , name a game that process all these things at the same time, i cant think of none. and as far as you guy talking about the graphics, you need to get a hi def television instead of playing on a black and white television, ( I play on a 60 in Hd)

As far as your lollipop throw thing is concerned, do you just press the button to throw or hold it down? Because throws are pressure sensitive. I have the Xbox version, not 360, but I agree with everything else you said.

Sounds like you need a new PS2. I bought one with The Show: no problems. And no: haven't heard of one freezing issue from any of the gamers I chat with. So it's your system or disk.

There's nothing wrong with the PS2 dude. The game has freezing issues. I have no problems with any other game and the disc is fine.
At most, I think it may be the batch the disc came from. Either way there are feezing issues because many other gamers have this problem.
Count yourself lucky, but quit telling me there is nothing wrong with The Show. There is, just like MLB 2K6
