View Full Version : Slightly disappointed with managing salaries/budget in GM mode

Seems a bit too easy for me. Many times you can resign guys who are playing on a 1-year contract for less than what they are making at that moment. And for players who are making way too much (e.g. "Furcal"), you can release them with all those years remaining on their contract at no expense to your budget, then resign them for drastically less.

Isn't it also odd that no top tier players (e.g. Pujols) resign for 15m+? You can get just about any guy under 10m or so.

I enjoy the game a ton when it doesn't freeze, and although this is a rather minor thing in the grand scheme of things it does take away from the game a bit.

Thoughts?

You cant sign people for more than 15mil because there is a silent salary cap in this game, its not like real mlb. But I agree, its quite cheesy when you can drop players or restructure their contracts and save 30mil.

Didn't realize there was a silent salary cap in this game. Thanks for that info! I played MVP 2005 last year on the PC so I was used to 100 rated players getting 20m+ contracts that kill your team. ;)
