The career mod has one week per turn. So at the start you can train or play in a tournament in that week depending one what available to you. If a tournament is available the best bet is to play because youll get stars for winning and the sooner a major becomes available the better. Once you win a major and a grand slam you get a lot of stars at once. This will give your player the best boost. E****ially if you can win a tournament that your player stars are low and are not really ready for. You will struggle to win but once you do any tournament of the same difficulty will be really easy to win.

Ow one other tip. If you can go in and win a couple games convincinly. You can then try auto play game. I find that if I use that option at the start I lose alot but if I can win a few games to start with score line 2-0 the rest of the game on auto usually comes out on my side.
