View Full Version : suggestions: (mostly fight related)

Being a big fight fan, the fighting is THE part of the game that needs the most work. Here are my suggestions:

-more accurate ratings so that the fighters are the ones who fight, and the better fighters generally win the fights.

-better line matching. Fighting between fighters is very rare in this game because the 4th line is never matched up against the 4th line. This is when the most fights should actually take place, and it's quite rare in a game for the 4th lines to match up even once. As such I've switched every team's 3rd and 4th line because the 3rd lines do match up occassionally (though still too rare.)

-a completely new fighting engine. I have a suggestion for this.
Square= left punch
triangle= right punch
X= hold with left hand
O= hold with right hand

When you're holding with one hand, the opponent can't throw with the opposite hand. You can't hold while he is in mid punch, so proper timing is needed in order to get a grip. It would become a strategic battle of trying to get a good grip and trying to get a hand free, switching up, etc. Also, using the analog you can throw different types of punches (pull down and punch is a body punch, left could be an uppercut, up is a looping hook, etc).

Ok, now aside from fighting I have a few other suggestions as well:
-more statistics kept especially in franchise mode. You can't even view other teams' statistics that I have found. I'd like to be able to see any teams' players' statistics. I'd also like to see individual stat for minutes played (as it will help me to make up my lines if I know how much ice time each player is getting.) I'd love to see a stat for fighting majors or even break it down into wins and losses, but I doubt we'll see that.
-In franchise mode if I simulate a game I want to be able to see the boxscore or at least a game recap.
-I often watch demo games to test changes I've made to ratings or rosters...but for some reason no matter what camera setting I have saved, every demo game starts with that lame camera that jumps all over the place showing several different angles but seemingly completely random. Each game I have to go in and set the camera again.
-better defense AI...I have goalie boost all the way down and defense boost all the way up, but it still seems like there are quite a few breakaways or odd man rushes. The defense doesn't really play positionally very well, they just seem to scramble and chase the puck...I'd like to see the computer AI defense get in the right position and not just chase the puck.

That's all I can think of for now, I'm sure I'll have more later.

Yeah, I do the same. The fights are just pathetic, there is no point in fighting. The 5 minute penalty they get for beathing the **** out of you is great though. It helps you boost your power play percentage, seeing as if you don't play with the penalties at the VERY TOP they NEVER get penalties (well rarely).
