How come the Red Sox and there fans are the only team that will ever talk [***] before the season really starts. Why every year is it the year to beat the Yankees.
Is it a curse or bad karma ?

Doesn't anyone read anymore? There's a board called the Baseball Discussions board, and about half of this page is filled with things not pertaining to ESPN Baseball, but just baseball in particular.

So Muff...how do you think Ron Belliard will do for the Indians this year at 2nd? You think Phillips will eventually take over and finally hit?? :P

I think I may answer the question if it's in the right board. These threads in the wrong forums really cluster it up, and is harder to find the better threads.

Anyways, to answer the question, I think that he will bring something rather different to the Indians. Him and Burks are pretty much the two older guys that can still use their legs to an extent, I don't think that he'll make a change in wins at all, but he will be an inspiration to have in the locker room.

Don't hate on Ronnie Belliard! When he played with the Brewers he brought a lot to the team. Wether it was with his on field performance or just the amount of heart this guy played with. He is just one of those players who is good enough to keep playing and earning starting spots, but bounces around a lot. Also, if you recall, the Brewers were willing to part with Vina (who in the following years became a big part in the Cardinals success) because they had Ronnie.

This is just like a few decades ago. All the Red Sox fans and "expert" analysts would blab about how the Red Sox are so great, how they stack up position by position better than the Yankees, how it's their year. Then it would come down to a ball going through a first baseman's legs, or Bucky ****ing Dent, and Aaron ****ing Boone.

SURE .......
The "best" pitcher in baseball cant keep a 3-4 run lead. Red Sox fans tell yourself whatever you have to. I know its Grady Little's fault for leaving Pedro in to long.
THIS YEAR WILL BE NO DIFFERENT THEN THE LAST 9 DECADES
