I was an EA PC nhl hockeynut now I've converted to nhk2k5 for the PS2. I don't care for eye candy graphics that's not the game. Anyone here remember Wayne Graetzky hockey for the Amiga? The top down classic had gameplay and everything nhl hockey had as far as rules go. But the most important part of it is gameplay. Now I enjoy nhl2k5 that I bought a PS2 caused I'm so disappointed with EAsports for the last 6 years. All I can say for all its worth nhl2k is best darn hockey in the market. I'm so into the nhl2k5 I haven't gone and buy nhl2k6 but nhl2k7 is forsure. Thanks.

Agreed. I played EA hockey since '92 and that franchise peaked in '95 and again I THINK in 2000. After playing the first 2K hockey I couldn't go back to that EA arcade garbage.
Despite a few problems, 2K6 on "current" gen systems has been the best hockey I've ever played.

NHL 94 on the Sega was fantastic and sealed my gaming love for hockey. But the 2K series definitely craps all over the competition when it comes to gameplay. Can't wait for the improvements of 2k7 - I just hope the makers remember that's what got them to the top, and don't focus on new features and graphics to the exclusion of gameplay.
