Reading the 07 previews, it seems like the new stuff in EA(most of it) is already done in 2k hockey. Personally I love the deaking system in 2k6. The guy from EA was so excited how pucks could finally bounce off the golie, off the defender and in. 2k6 has that already. Dont forget of the great stuff 2k already has, deeper francise, EA's dynasty isn't that great. Sure EA is better in the graphics dept. but 2k still has gameplay. The rivalries sound awsome IMO and it seems like games will be full of emotion. Plus EA doesn't have the best feature of all, Enforcers. If 2k sticks with 2k6 style of game and fix it up and add more stuff and make the graphics better, it will be right up there with EA. Just my oppion.

Sorry bud, after watching that gameplay video on google video of nhl 07 i think the majority of ppls here have switched and decided to get EA. You didn't mention the downside of 2k at all like the glitches and cheap goals and the brutal goalies. Im not saying EA wont have any downsides cuz it will but i think EA is the game to get this year for the 360.

I won't give up just yet, but they better deliver and for all those of you that are so excited by NHL 07, don't forget that it may look good but the most important thing is the gameplay and to know if it's great you need to try it not just see it on a video with people working on it making the comments.

Totally agree.

However, I will try both games (that flex stick really looks amazing!), but I'm not giving up on 2k. They have delivered many years now and still looks very interesting (Rivalry + GAMEPLAY!). Too bad I have to wait until March 2007 or so for European release....as always :(

I own both 2k6 and NHL 06.

If I want fast paced, arcadey hockey with pretty graphics, I play NHL 06.

If I want a game that FEELS like a real hockey game. That ACTS more like a real game, and that LOOKS like a real hockey game, I play 2k6.

They both have their good and bad points.

But man, if we ever get a game that looks as good as 06, with the playability and realism of NHL 2k6, I think all hockey fans would rejoice.

It's off to EA for me as well. I'm not going to say "SORRY 2K Sports" because I'm not sorry. I should be the one sorry for shelling out $60 for a piece of s**t 2K6 game that went useless. (Saving issues...disconnecting hard drive and buying a memory card instead BS!!!!) Not even an apology from 2KSports.

It's EA all the way for NHL 07. At least none of my present EA 06 titles like Tigerwoods didn't have a (REMOVE THE HARDDRIVE AND BUY A MEMORY CARD TSO YOU CAN PLAY THIS GAME BULLS**T)

Anyway, I totally disagree. I also have both 2k6 and 07, and after playing both for a month or two 2k6 went right at the bottom of the pile of games to collect dust where it should be. I find 2k6 to be the least realistic cartoony game i've ever played since nhl HITZ!.

I've had way more fun with 06 and again i'll buy both, to give 2k a chance... but I'd bet mostly anything i'll once again enjoy 07 much more.

But I agree both have their strong points and weak points. I went with a game that felt like real hockey and had more fun with.

I'm also waiting for the european release, let's see if they can deliver it before 2k8 is announced. At least play.com tells me that the release date would be 01 Sept. 2006. Just like last year. And yes, it was postponed again and again, and here I am without 2k6. Summer just ain't the time for hockey.

Please 2K Sports, **** my Xbox! (with NHL 2k7 ON TIME!)

As much as I want to get my hands on 2k7, it's totally useless to even dream of a 2006 release. I really fail to see the point of setting such a premature date and then postpone for ever and ever and ever and ever...
That we Europeans have the slightest faith in these charlatans year after year is nothing short of insane. Yet we're there for the drop of the puck...

I would be glad if X360 version was region-free. Then I'd just have to buy X360 for me because I could actually buy the game from US. Let's just hope that 2K Sports won't leave us europeans out again of the hockey market.

I think that 2k does the little things better. Like when you trade a goalie, his pads color will change accordingly to the team. In NHL 06, I got Ilya Bryzgalov and he still has those purple pads.
