after watchin the detroit vs the rangers, I can't wait for nhl 07. 2K7 looks really arcadey, the puck looks stuck to ppl, the gameplay doesn't seem to touch 07 in their videos. Unless they changed the game alot till now, and show me some more videos imam give them a thumbs down. Oh yea and what's with the commentary... and the face offs where the puck drops then sits there and is then won? lol...

I don't understand how you are already judging the gameplay? After seeing what EA has done with all of its games in the past years, to jump to an early conclusion is idiotic. EA always puts out pretty videos and nice screenshots, but their gameplay is always shallow and repetitive...

The EA fanboyz that come here and keep goodmouthing their game and badmouthing 2k Sports need to recognize this...
1. It is way too obvouis to recognize that there is a bias when they post, hence there is basically no value to their posts.
2. No one is going to change their opinoin because of what is said on this forum.

That's why it is a forum, and I am not biased for EA... I own mlb 2k6 and nba 2k6. But from what I've been seeing all that's all I can go on, Ea is the better game to me right now. They've seemed to start from the ground up making this game, so all the people saying the old games this the old games that, just wait and see. Then make your comments after the game is actually good. To Toydingo, how am I already judging the gameplay? it's called the videos that are the reason for the post, that's why and how.

Sounds like you're judging it to me...
I don't get how people can "judge" a game based on videos. You and a few others on these forums have been spelling doom and jumping ship because of a few shiny videos and neat graphics.
I'm not saying that NHL 2K7 is going to beat up on NHL 07 or vice versa. I just wish people would stop jumping to conclusion and judgements without actually playing the game...

it was sarcasm, I was judging the gameplay based on the diff videos. And that's why these forums are here so we can debate back and forth certain points. The only thing im saying is that people that are 2k fans right now, are only saying " the past games, the past games" They're not showing me, or telling me anything that I should be looking forward to or new things in the game. This will be my first NHL game on the 360, and those are things I would like to know, and that's why im judging and giving the edge to nhl 07 right now, until somethign changes my mind.

I agree that 2K hasn't given us much to go on with the new game, but just about everything the EA is putting into their new game (except for graphics) has already been done in the 2K series at some point.
And for the majority of people with any sense to know that and still want to claim that EA is going to "destroy" 2K for whatever reason without any real evidence to back it up except for a few "videos" (which I'm sure EA has touched up a little) is absurd...

yea I understand what your saying, and that's cool I never knew that. I just wish 2k would realease a new video of stuff to expect from the gameplay etc, just like nhl did with the shootout, then the gameplay. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that the videos above are from may 19th.

As far as i heard, E.A. has gotton rid of the arcade style and gone to sim. 2K has gotton rid of sim and gone to arcade (so it appeared on the clips)

These videos are in May so it was really early .My friend works for EA Montreal (working on 07 for xbox, ps2.psp,pc) and in May NHL 07 was 20-30% done for 360, and at that time they did not have the control stick integrated. You cannot judge 2k7 based on those videos because the game was bout 40% done. The game looks arcady because it is a fast exhibition, even in 2k6 when you chose "play now", it is a fast game arcady game unless you go to game modes and then to exhibition. By watching the videos , I realized that the wrap around goal and the goal by comming from the sides and shooting in the other extremity are still in the game. I hope they fixed those problems. NHL07 on xbox,ps2,pc does not have the procontrol stick control, it is a one button deke (no more unrealistic dekes like in 06). The right analog sitck is used for passing, u move it toward the direction of the player you want to pass it too and your player will pass it.

After watching some of the gameplay videos, Ive noticed that just about every time down the ice, there was a scoring opportunity. The AI defence (and player defence) was terrible. Plus, they were skating about 100mph past everyone. It looked about as realistic as putting Lemieux in a minor league game. Plus, 2k has had a hockey franchise for many years, but yet, their graphics seem to never change. It just doesn't feel next-gen to be playing a game that looks like I could buy it for xbox and have the same result.

I just watched both the 2K7 and NHL07 gameplay videos.
2K7 videos were from May and NHL07 from earlier this month, so EA might have a little bit of an edge there. However, 2K should have had the basics working pretty much as they would appear on the final product by that time.
Couple of observations I made:
EA gameplay looked twitchy. The players just didn't move realistically IMHO. It was kinda like watching someone play a shoot'em up on ice, if you know what I mean.
2K7 gameplay looked same ole, same ole. Nothing and absolutely nothing had been improved upon 2K6. It looked exactly the same. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I do have to wonder why would I bother spending money on 2K6 v2.0 given everything that 2K did wrong with 2K6.
EA's presentation and graphics were MUCH better than 2K's. This is where the May vs. July time difference might come into play though. Still, you have to remember EA's presentation has always been way better than 2K's. Everything from background graphics to player models to glitch graphics (logos, transition graphics, etc.) to sound effects was just way better in NHL07.
Looks like a tie at this point in my book. If the situation remains the same and neither franchise manages to uncover something drastically new and good before release date, I'll make my choice based on how buggy 2K7 is gonna be. If drop glitching and/or freezing problems are still in, there's NO way I'm buying 2K7.

They always do that. For some reason 2K insists on releasing PR video clips in Amateur difficulty. I remember 2K6 videos being exactly the same.
