View Full Version : So I got bored and put NHL 2K5...

First I will tell you, me and my brother play about 3 games of NHL 2K6 every day. We just love it. We decided to see how 2K5 compared because we havent played it in about a year. So we did.

Firstly, wow, the menus were a thousand times better. Everything was just so crisp and looking good. ESPN, oh how I miss you. The actual gameplay was more fun as well. Although some features such as wrap around goals were not in 2k5, we both thought the game was more fun to play. Plus the announcers also sounded better. 2K5 definitely was better in both our eyes.

Let's hope 2k7 is as good as 2K5.

2K5 definitely had better user interface, that's for sure. 2K6's looked like it was slapped in as an afterthought.

2K6 was probably an afterthought since they probably had to slap it together. It was the first game released with the new interface.

From what I've seen from 2k7 UI screenshots, it looks much improved.

I did what you did, now I can't stop playing. 2k5 gameplay IS indeed better; feels like the puck moves a lot more realistic with more crazy bounces and deflections. Many more exciting sequences around the net, puck just appears lose a lot more often than in 2k6. The overall tension of any match played in 2k5 is fantastic imo, I think 2k6 lacks this unfortunately.
So until 2k7 reaches Europe (ahh the wait..) I will only concentrate on 2k5 :)

For me, 2k3 was the most exciting hockey game. 2k2 was the worst, all the AI did was attack do a wrap around and try to shoot.
