I see four new images for the original XBOX at videogames.com posted today. Looks much the same.
I would really like to see them put everything they can into this game, as much as i hate to say it EA Montreal is going nuts on NHL 07 for current Gen systems, so i really hope that 2K isn't brushing us PS2 and XBOX users aside with a new roster remake of NHL 2K6.
One thing i will say about EA is even when a system is dying they manage to bring out new features for a game. Like NHL 97 for Sega Genesis (i also believe there was NHL 98 for Genesis but i never see it) had the skills comptetition added to it. NHL 2001 had career mode over the PS2 version.
I know i've heard last year that rivalry is something they're looking into for next gen system.
I'm sorry but i make a point after my last generation of systems (PS2 bought first day it came out, stopped reading CD's after a few months of scratchless discs became JUNK, XBOX never read discs properly from the start lasted me two years i am now on my second XBOX only because i believe XBOX is the Sega Genesis of this generation when it comes to Hockey games) to not buy the new systems until at least a year year and a half into the generation for good reason.
I understand the game will be at its usual price of 19.99 (24.99 in Canada it should be with our dollar at .90 cents US, i also believe a lot of price changes need to be made in this area including the price of XBOX360 and other systems) or 29.99 it has been since 2k5 in canada, so i guess the argument is for the price yadda yadda yadda. Well i'm sorry when it come to hockey games price is nice but a new hockey game is better.
From the looks of current generation EA's hockey according to IGN, EA Montreal is busting out everything and anything for XBOX and PS2, so i'm really starting to wonder if PS2 and XBOX users like us right now are going to be totally let down this year with the exception of the expected upgrades any hockey game would have for a new season.
Any thoughts anyone? 2K guys u around? Or is this on the hush hush for now to surprise us all that i am totally wrong in my arguments? I hope so.
