Will 360 2k7 gamers be able to play gamers from another console?

I know that this is not impossible at all technically. It would be great if you could play NHL 2K7 vs. someone who owns a PS3, PS2 or XBOX considering each game will technically be identical.

Cross system? unlikely.

First of all you have Xbox Live, which will just not work with PS@ or PS3.

Then you got two versions of NHL 2k7, one for xbox and one for 360. If you only needed to buy one, that would mean less profit for 2k Games and Microsoft. Similar to the Battlefield 2: Modern Combat and Ghost Recon: Advanced Fighter deal.

But that's just it, they aren't identical. The "old gen" versions didn't get the new skating engine and that's just a single example. All the animations are different and the AI is probably given more time. You're talking about syncing up two completely different games.

Shorter answer: no, you won't be able to play cross-platform, just like this year.
