Not happy with seeing that at all

D Wade shouldn't have that dunk in his package. I have NEVER seen him do THAT dunk. We shouldn't assume what he can do. I am pretty sure he can but it doesn't matter.

He has never done anything that complex in a NON All Star game (which it should be based on)

wildman2005
August 17th, 2006, 08:25 PM
if we all kno he can do this why not include in his package

DCAllAmerican
August 17th, 2006, 08:31 PM
Because he has NEVER done it in an NBA game.
We that is the logic than many people should have that in their package.

The game SHOULD be a reflection of what has been done in actuality.
If D Wade has NEVER done a 360 in a regular NBA game then he shouldn't have it in his package.

Not about if he can do it; it is about if he HAS done it.

Everybody who says this wade dunk isn't realistic, is just wrong.

take a look at this footage

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Am50JP8QXak

Lots of highflies, now check out that casual 360 he does in traffic, on the 1:30 min-mark. It's like peanuts for him.

He does all kinds of 360, reverse lay-ups on a daily basis, so a 360 dunk on a fastbreak, at home, is difinitely not out of this world. It's Dwayne's WORLD :p

DCAllAmerican

He did a 360 or did he do a partial 180?

I don't see how this highlight reel supports the idea that he should be doing 360s

Find me a video of him doing a 360 in a regular season/playoff game. Since he does it on a DAILY basis.

Im not a wade fan or hater but I think that theres alot of NBA players that can jump higher then they do in games. Who ever thought that Jason Richardson can throw the ball of the backboard and catch it in the air and go between his legs. I bet alot of people never heard of Josh Smith until the dunk contest. He jumped higher in the dunk contest then any highlight i saw of him in a game. What about Lil Nate from the kicks. He jumped over some1 2 inches smaller then him. Whos with me on this 1?

I don't see how you don't understand the idea that nobody should be given the luxury of being able to do something that they have NEVER done in an actual game. I don't see how D Wade should be "given" a 360 in his package.

I can name over 50 players in the NBA that COULD do a 360; so should all of them have that in their packages as well?

1. What kind of analogy was that to present? I would say the SAME thing. If someone has NEVER done a 360; they should not have THAT dunk in their package.

2. Kobe's dunks have been overrated in 2K games since day 1. I love Kobe so it isn't a matter of me hatin the dude either before you assume that.

3. It's just a game? What does that mean? LOL. Is that an excuse to give anyone ANY ability? Don't understand how "it's just a game" - has to do with anything.

Dude u need to chill out. You cryin about somethin so petty. It seems like people find every which way to bash developers. I remember in 2k5 peeps was complainin there wasn't enough dunks. It isn't as if it's like a big PF or C performing this dunk, this is motha-"lovin" D-Wade.

Im not just looking for something to complain about my man. It's not even like that. Don't label me like that just because I am not praising it.

But if we are basing it off the "assumption" that he can do a 360 then the following players should be able to do it as well.

I don't even feel like naming that long list. Point is YES they have the ability to do it; but since they have not done it in a real game then they shouldn't be able to do it.

I think many of you are taking how great of a player DWADE is into considerations and not SIMPLY looking at his dunks.

Take all of the accolades away from him and look at him as just a body.

So saying it is "D "freakin" Wade" - means nothing. yes he was the MVP of the finals so that should entitle him to extra credit on the game? No it shouldn't.

c'mon people.......I could see if it was Iverson or J.Kid or something. It's Dwayne Wade, he can get up and we all know he can do a 360. It's not like the dunk itself is impossible. Like my man said before It's just a game.

Kobe isn't an elite flyer like he was back in 96.

I agree with DCAllAmerican, if someone hasn't done a dunk in an actual game, he should not have it in his package. I am totally against things like this...for example, having between the leg dunks, even for vince carter, in the game. I don't think it should be in their packages because they have not done those dunks in actual games...and what we are playing is simulations of actual games. Maybe in street mode or in the dunk contest (when they put it in) they can do those kinds of dunks, but not in actual games.

Now I'm not saying we shouldn't have any 360 dunks in the game...no...we should have them, but only for people who have actually done them in real life games. This aint the dunk contest...this is 5-on-5 gameplay.

again..think about it....

^^^^I think you're the one who needs to think about it, man. I'm not saying dwade should only be able to do 4 dunks cuz that's what he does in real life. I'm saying he should not be able to do the type of dunks we see him doing in that video. HE HAS NEVER DONE THAT IN A REAL LIFE GAME. Got it? Not practice....not dunk contests....not street ball....not in his backyard just messin around...not in nba live....not anywhere but in the real game. 5-on-5 gameplay.

Now if you take dwade to the street mode and play with him there, then he may or may not have that in his arsenal...it won't matter.

he can have a lot of dunks (I'd be happy with him doing 10-15 different dunks in 2k7) but not like the one in the vid. He can have several different one-handed dunks, two handed dunks, one-handed reverse dunks (like he's done in real life gameplay), two-handed reverse dunks...have several variations of each type of dunk. This doesn't amount to only 3-4 dunks.

If you think dwade does only 3-4 dunks in real life gameplay then you don't really watch basketball.

I play the game for fun too...but that don't mean i want it to be arcadey like live. I want to play a fun simulation. If i want a fun arcadey game, i'll get NBA street next-gen when it comes out (and I will get it, God willing). And i'm not saying that you shouldn't be able to do those dunks, but only in street mode.

and just cuz 2K doesn't have a dunk contest doesn't mean we should be able to do things like a double-between-the legs dunk on a fastbreak...that's just WACK! ..that's NBA Live, as a matter of fact.

or maybe the solution would be to have a system where the user selects what type of dunks he wants to see in the game: realistic? or superman? for those of you who are into seeing unrealistic dunks.

I liked the D-Wade dunk, it looked good and you all know that if you did it in the game while playing with your friends, you would be amped. Stop crying about " Oh he can't do that in real life" People are so stupid. This is one of the times when I'm glad that the devs don't listen to fools who want to kill the game before they play it. We've all complained about a rushed product last year and now that they are putting all this new and cool stuff in the game (stuff most people wanted) people biyatch about it. It's annoying. I would love to see VC put his arm in the rim if it looked right. Maybe for all you crybabies they could do it like they had back in the day with the sim option and the arcade option. Someone please get these kids a pacifier. (He didnt do it in a real game) come on, stop it.

A lot of us on these boards complained and complained about 2K not delivering on dunk animations. Now 2K addressed the problem.....and now some of us are saying they are too good. I agree wit everybody though to some point....yes the game should be as realistic as possible but that would make it sorta boring (I mean have ya played NCAA 07 on the 360). On the other hand I agree that the game needs some flash but not too much...it wasn't an impossible dunk after all.

To all those who are saying so and so shouldn't be able to do this and that because he hasn't done it in an actual game you should all stop taking those crazy pills. This is a game. It allows you to have the experience of playing in the NBA, something that 99.9% of us will never experience in real life. If we follow your contention that people shouldn't be able to do things they haven't done in a real game then only a handfull of players will be able to make game winning shots, imagine a tied game with your buddy, you have the ball with 3 seconds left, you find Nesterovic all alone in front of the basket, no defender in sight. There's no point in taking the shot because he's NEVER made a game winning shot in real life and so this shouldn't go in. Same is true if your favorite teams are the Magic, TWolves, Grizz, etc. There will be no point in playing an Association game because they have NEVER won a championship and therefore shouldn't be able to do it in the game. As over used as this phrase would be you still have to remember, THIS IS A VIDEO GAME, those players are not really in your TV. Well maybe something vc can consider is another slider, for realsim and arcade some people are having trouble distinguishing between the too. Maybe even the My NBA team sliders will have a "flash over substance" slider you never know. At least that would please both sides of the spectrum. I mean honestly though a few instances of flashy gameplay would be enjoyable, for other's it might ruin their gameplay experience. It's hard for 2k developers that have to please everybody that's their job, imagine having to live your life that way.

I think this argument from both sides are completly legitimate. D-Wade has never done this in a game but who says that he never will. And even if he doesn't you still have to think about when other people are getting blown out. When the score is out of reach you should have some flash to your dunks. Fastbreak, your home, and a blowout score... I think your gonna expect more of a 360 than a tomahawk at that time. At that moment the only thing you can see it as is the icing on the cake or the cherry on top, right?? You can't complain about dunks like that in certain situations;)

Good point.

Personally, I see both sides of the argument. IMO, it shouldn't really matter. It's really not an impossible dunk. My only concern would be if he's going to be allowed to do that particular dunk while in traffic. On fastbreaks, let the player do whatever. In traffic, Wade better not attempt to try that dunk.

Funny how so many of you are repeating the same things that others have said.

For the last time.

It isn't the fact that he CAN'T do it (we know he most liekly can)

It boils down to the fact that he has never done it.

So chill out and enjoy what is looking to be an excellent version of our favorite game............

John Stockton could dunk in real life but never did it in an NBA game. That should show the logic in this thread. Just because they havent done it doesn't mean they cant

And who said he couldn't; practically everyone admitted that he COULD do it my man.

Let me go ahead and clarify that you're not going to see Wade do that dunk very often in 2K7 - in fact, you'll be lucky if you ever do. The nice thing is that there are so many new animations that a few of them are specifically very rare so that if you ever do see them, you'll be like, "Holy wacka-wacka doo-doo! Did you just see that?!? How did you do that?"

oh haha something was messed up it said the thread was only 2 pages long when i posted that...my bad

ok now i read it all and see what the real debate is, and I agree that that dunk should never be done in traffic, but in a breakaway situation like that....maybe. maybe at best.

I don't see how you don't understand the idea that nobody should be given the luxury of being able to do something that they have NEVER done in an actual game. I don't see how D Wade should be "given" a 360 in his package.

I can name over 50 players in the NBA that COULD do a 360; so should all of them have that in their packages as well?

isnt this 360 a circle motion with the right analog? i mean if its possible for them to do it in real life.. y not make it possible for them to do it in the game? its not like hes going to be doing it a lot.. its the PLAYERS choice... the person who is in control of d-wade's choice whether he wants to do a 360 by doing the circular motion witht he right analog if he wants... if he doesnt do it in a real game that often.. there should be some sort of in-game thing that makes the flashy players make it more often than the non flashy players...

anyway... i saw jamaal magloire do a real 360 in a game last season... if thats a part of his "package", if hes able to do it in this game becuz he REALLY did it in the nba.. and d-wade not be allowed? than thats dumb.

Yeah that dunk was silly.... D-wade isn't rising like that in that type of situation... that was effortless. That should be one of those breakaway dunks that players do when they have a complete freebie. There aren't many guys that can do that.

Wade can do a 360 dunk. Im not talking about the 180 1 handed dunk thats been shown, but a 360. When Shaq first came to Miami there was a little clip on ESPN talking about him and Wade getting alone and not being like him and Kobe or him and Hardaway. They were at their practice and were picking at each other after Shaq did one of his powerful dunks while playing horse and shooting the ball cause Shaq said he didn't want to show him up in shooting *picking and inother words he can't shoot lets dunk*. Well Wade did a 360 dunk and they was laughing cause they new Shaq couldn't beat him in a dunk game of horse either. hes done windmills in the game on the break..how anyody can say with any certainty that he has never done a 360 in a game unless you were at everygame home and away is beyond me. But he can do it

DCALLAMERICAN: I think you need to relax, you're getting really mad over something so small. Who cares if Flash can or can't do it. I'm sure theres a way where u can set it in the game so he doesnt or cant do it. You're seriously taking this issue up the ***
