High Point - The High Point University Panthers have announced the hiring
of Chris Kennedy as there new Head Basketball Coach for the 2003-2004
season."It is an honor to get this kind of job at my age. I know they picked me to win and I plan to." Kennedy is only 20 years old and has only 2 years of HS coaching experience. He gets the job of turning around a struggling Panther team.[/b]

Tigers Crush Panthers
High Point 0-0 @ Clemson 0-0
Clemson (AP)-Neither team could get started right with a score of 6-0 Clemson after 4:15 of basketball. But Clemson would soon get started getting off to a 12-2 lead. HPU could not catch up in the first half trailing 28-17 at the half. The second half would start the way the first ended with a huge tiger run leading 46-25 half way through the final half. The tigers continued there run pushing High Point to the limit but the Panthers could not respond.

Panthers Blow Early Lead in Loss to Michigan
High Point 0-1 @ Michigan 2-0
Ann Arbour (AP)- The Panthers jumped out to a 9-8 lead before Michigan shut them down. The Wolverines forced HPU to call thier first timeout after a 10-0 Michigan run. Michigan continued to out score th Panthers with a 37-18 Halftime lead.The second half continued pretty even with a 49-28 Michigan lead half way through the second half.

HPU edges Virginia
High Point 0-2 @ Virginia 2-1
Charlottesville(AP)- The Panthers opened the game looking very good leading 7-4 early in the first half. The Panther continued through the half grabbing a 17-12 lead halfway throgh the first half. High Point played strong through the rest of the half and into the second half with a 23-22 Halftime lead.The second half started back and forth. With the Panthers clinging to a two point lead. Neither team could seem to grab the momentum as HPU held on to a 42-39 lead halfway through the second half. Th Panthers maintain the lead through the entire half to pull out the win.

Catamounts Win in Close Game
High Point 1-2 @ Western Carolina 0-3
Cullowhee (AP)- High Point started strong with an 11-6 lead early on. WCU would then start applying pressure late in the half but only cutting the lead to two with 1:42 left in the half. But Western did not give up and takes a 27-25 lead into the second half. The Catamounts jump to four point lead early in the half but High Point would not be denied. Both team scratched and clawed for momentum but both teams were even throughout the most of the second half at a score of 43-43. Western grabbed a five point 52-47 lead to seal the deal for the Catamounts.

Panthers Lose Agian
High Point 1-3 @ Mount St. Mary's 1-5
Emmitsburg (AP)- The game started in a slow pace with a 8-6 Panther lead.MSM continued to pressure HP and it finally paid off with a 22-18 Mount St. Mary's lead. The Mountainers then rolled to a 28-22 halftime lead. However the Panthers came flying back to tie it at 30-30. The Mountianers shut off High Point once agian reclaiming the lead. The Panthers just could not find the basket trailing 44-34.Mount St. Marys continued to dominate the game
