Last years game just made every 1 or 2 star player completely terrible. It’s not uncommon to find a non blue-chipper that can knock down the open jumper or play good defense. Don’t over-do it but also don't under-do it.
It's a balance thing that needs to be figured out.
Example:
Say you find a 1 star 6-4 SG(spot-up-shooter) that can fill it up with the best of them. The only thing about him is, he can't defend, he not that athletic and his handles are weak etc. He might be productive against small conference teams but when he matches up with better more athletic players it should show. I'm not saying the computer should drop his shooting 20% against a major conference teams but his lack of other skills should make it harder for him to get off against bigger more athletic guards.
