I do! It’s probably my favorite genre. Do any of you like this genre? If so list some of your favorite groups or songs.
------------
If you have never listened to ‘80’s-‘90’s alternative you need to check these bands out.
Some might be considered rock (R.A.T.M.) or ska (Sublime) but I really don’t care, their style is pretty close to alternative (well that’s just my opinion).

Soundgarden
Nirvana
Stone Temple Pilots
Alice in Chains
Rage Against the Machine
Helmet
Danzig
Jane’s Addiction
Faith No More
Depeche Mode

Red Hot Chili Peppers are nice, so is Depeche Mode.
Nirvana as well.....but I wouldn't classify it as alternative rock.

Nirvana is more of a grunge-rock, but I just call all grunge-rock and ska alternative. It’s just easier that way.

Pearl Jam is the root of all evil. I absolutely hate everything about them.

Why's that?

Why's that?

I can’t stand the lead signer’s voice, their style is very soft and mellow, which isn’t a bad thing just something I don’t like in this genre, I also can’t stand their guitar player in my opinion all the guitar stuff sounds the same, and the drums are below average.

My favorites in that list tend to the 90s side, with the inclusion of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, and Soundgarden. Outside of those three, I sample out what I think are the best songs of some of those bands (Faith No More's "Epic" sticks out of those bands as a memorable song). As for those that question Nirvana as alternative, most alternative rock stations do include Nirvana in their playlists (Although I have even seen classic rock stations play Nirvana, such as WAXQ-FM in New York.)

So anyone listen to R.E.M.? They're pretty good I like Stand and a few other tracks, but most is pretty bad they're kind of like U2, popular but don't really have a lot of good songs.

I like R.E.M. especially "Losing My Religion" & "It's the End of the World"
Harvey Danger was alright, they had a couple of good hits.
Did anybody else like Billy Idol? One of my favs was "White Wedding."
